The Rampart Search and Rescue is Adams and Lincoln County’s rural/wilderness search and rescue team dedicated to saving lives through search, rescue, and safety education. The Team is comprised of volunteers and is available upon request for help with mountain searching rescue anywhere in Colorado under the authority of the local County Sheriff, or in other states under local authority. The team c
an search for downed aircraft, lost people by tracing the location of the aircraft’s emergency location transmitter (ELT), as well as personal locator beacons (PLB). The members, numbering over 50 strong, serving a variety of roles are working toward a single goal; saving lives. There is never a charge for Search and Rescue services, we are on call 24/7. We are a nonprofit 501c3 organization comprised of dedicated public safety professionals who volunteer their free time to provide the humanitarian services of search and rescue capabilities throughout our counties and beyond. The team operates under the jurisdiction of the Adams and Lincoln County's Sheriff’s Office. RSAR receives no government or tax-based funding of any kind and relies solely on community donations and our members own funds to provide these services at no cost to the citizens and visitors to Colorado. RSAR Teams can be utilized for:
• Locating missing persons in the wilderness, urban, possible drowning, floods, building and bridge collapses,
airplane and train wrecks, fires, and earthquakes.
• Search for LE evidence
• Law Enforcement support including road closures (soft or hard)
• 10k, 5k Race for medical and clearing the race for last person location. Race day 2-way radio communications.
• Drone – Live video and FLIR operations
• Dive – Recovery operations, locating evidence
• 4x4 – Severe weather rescues, flood stage monitoring, road closures, off road operations.
• K9 – Person tracking, cadaver
• Bike – For dence crowd events for all above SAR OPS
Our Cadent program assists local law enforcement in the search for missing persons in urban and wilderness environments, natural disasters, recovery of evidence and evacuation of the injured. We also provide communications assistance for local events. RSAR members range in age from 10 to over 80. We are looking for motivated volunteers to join our team for the following positions: Dive, Cadet, 4x4, Drone, K9 handler and Rescue Technician. Though we are always recruiting new members year round, our training season runs from October through April.
