We were excited to take on this massive interior selective deconstruction project in South Denver, complete with gym, playground, and gazebo removal! A huge variety of materials were salvaged like fixtures, cabinets, and doors, many of which were donated to the National Center For Craftsmanship in Greeley. Some items (like the gazebo) made their way to our own shop - Perks Reclaimed - in Commerce City. It always feels good to know so many perfectly usable building materials will be given a second life ♻️

It took 8 days to fully deconstruct this house, including removing the concrete foundation, and we were excited to recover tons of good lumber! This 2,700 sq ft home was built in 1965, so asbestos had to be abated before deconstruction. You can find the lumber salvaged from this home over at Perks Reclaimed, where it was processed and denailed for reuse.

While some materials, like drywall, must be removed but can't be reused or recycled, other materials get a second life. In this case, concrete and brick will be recycled into road base, and the lumber was in good enough condition to be reused.

Small structure, same salvage-first approach 🛠

Our team recently took down this shed piece by piece and brought the usable materials back to the warehouse for resale. The roof had to be landfilled, but the walls were saved so someone else can reassemble them and put them back to use.

Whether it’s a shed, garage, interior remodel, or full house, we’re always looking for the smarter way to take things apart and keep good materials in circulation.

We love to see these full-circle moments 🔄

Recently we salvaged 8 steel beams from a full house deconstruction project in south Denver. They were donated to the National Center For Craftsmanship and resold through our warehouse on NCC’s behalf. Yesterday, a customer came by and bought all 8 to use in a concrete and steel deck with a workshop underneath.

It’s always satisfying to see how people reuse the materials we salvage!

We had a great time hosting a Denver Architecture Foundation member tour at an active, full house deconstruction site. We welcomed about 20 attendees and had a great mix of architects, realtors, DIYers, and retirees. It was really fun to share more about deconstruction, answer questions, and connect with some new faces. Thanks to DAF for including us — we’d love to join another event down the road! ♻️

Traditional demolition sends most of the materials straight to the landfill. Deconstruction takes a more careful approach, dismantling buildings so materials like lumber, doors, cabinets, and hardware can be reused, recycled, or donated instead.

Even on a “smaller” interior deconstruction project, there’s a lot worth saving. Our crew pulled salvageable materials from nearly every room, and handled everything like the resource it is (because it is).

This cabinet + counter set is a perfect example: removed intact, protected on the way out, and ready for its next home.

Here we handled an interior selective deconstruction for remodel in Denver. We removed reusable and recyclable materials, protected the surrounding structure, and kept the jobsite running smoothly so the next phase could begin right on schedule.

On this project we salvaged and recycled a solid mix of materials — appliances, plumbing fixtures, sinks, cabinets, doors, trim, and wood flooring — keeping usable materials out of the landfill and in circulation.
