Little-Ward Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Bettie Jones.

Mrs. Bettie Blanch Lacek Jones, age 93, of Commerce passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at High Shoals Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Jones was born in New Kensington, PA to the late, Joseph and Cathrine Meros Lacek. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker, poultry farmer and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was also preceded in death by her husband, Ed Jones.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters, Linda Snipes (Bob) of Athens and Patti Quinn (Pat) of Hull; son, Joe Jones (Cindy) of Commerce; four grandchildren, Heather, Joseph, Corey, and Kevin Jones; three great grandchildren.

Due to the recommendation of the CDC, and the executive order issued by Governor Brian Kemp banning all gatherings of 10 or more people, services for Mrs. Jones are being planned accordingly to comply with this order.

A private graveside service will be held Monday at Jackson Memorial Gardens with Mr. Joseph Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Commerce Food Bank: 141 Atlanta Ave. Commerce, GA 30529 or the Commerce Public Library: 1344 South Broad St. Commerce, GA 30529.

The family would like to send a special “Thanks” to High Shoals Nursing Home Staff and also to Affinis Hospice for their care that they showed Mrs. Jones and the family.

Little-Ward Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Thomas Gerald “Jerry” Gailey.

Mr. Thomas Gerald “Jerry” Gailey, age 80, of Commerce, GA died Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Northridge Health and Rehab. Mr. Gailey was born in Jackson County to the late Frank Travis and Ruby Langston Gailey. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Air Force and a retired GBI Agent. Mr. Gailey was also a 32 Degree Mason, past Master of Hudson Lodge #294, past president of Association of Retired GBI and State Troopers.

Mr. Gailey is survived by his wife, Ruby Hawkins Gailey of Commerce; son, Tim Gailey (Cindy Kay) of Commerce; sister, Sara Jo Hill of Commerce; and a grandson, Garrett Gailey of Athens.

Due to the recommendation of the CDC, and the executive order issued by Governor Brian Kemp banning all gatherings of 10 or more people, services for Mr. Gailey are being planned accordingly to comply with this order.

Private family graveside service will be held Thursday, April 16th at Jackson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ray Richardson officiating

Ivie Funeral Home Announces the death of Mr. Larry Paul Twilley.

Larry Paul Twilley, age 70 of Jefferson, GA passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

Born on March 24, 1950 in Augusta, GA, Mr. Twilley was the son of the late Willis and Nellie Twilley. He was a carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Duffell Twilley, of the residence; sons, Russell Twilley, Jefferson, George McDaniel, Jefferson; daughter, Linda Wainwright, McDonough; sister, Sherry Whitman, McDonough; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.



Graveside services will be held 2 pm Friday, April 17, 2020 at Jackson Memorial Park.

Little-Ward Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. William Ralph Allen. Mr. William Ralph Allen, age 83, of Commerce, GA died Thursday, March 26, 2020 at The Oaks at Scenic View. Mr. Allen was born in Habersham Mills of Habersham County, GA to the late George Fred and Lillie Mae Sosebee Allen. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Reliance Electric. Mr. Allen’s hobbies included, camping, fishing, and woodworking. He made “Jesus Loves Me” trains from twigs of wood. He was a devoted Christian man that loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He battled Parkinson’s disease for 21 years.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jessie Belle McElreath Allen of Commerce; children, Gail Parker (Ben), Karen Hill (Joel) and Brenda Williams (Clay); and grandchildren, Meagan Hobbs (Justin), Samuel Hill, Andrew Hill, Jonathan Williams and Matthew Parker.

Due to the recommendation of the CDC, and the executive order issued by Governor Brian Kemp banning all gatherings of 10 or more people, services for Mr. Allen are being planned accordingly to comply with this order.

Graveside services will be held Monday, March 30 at 11 AM at Jackson Memorial Park with Rev. Billy Owensby, Rev. Chad Rising and Rev. Ben Parker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Blacks Creek Baptist Church Youth Fund.

Little-Ward Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Mary Jane Williamson. Mrs. Mary Jane Strickland Williamson, age 86, of Commerce passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Williamson was born on April 30, 1933 in Danielsville to the late, Clemon and Texie Mae Hill Strickland. Mrs. Williamson was retired from Reliance and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williamson was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Kitchens, second husband, Kenneth Williamson, brothers, J.B, Paul, Coyle, Marvin, Frank, Jim, Bob, and L.T., and sister, Ida Mae Ramsey.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Thompson (Nelson) of Commerce and Peggy Lewis (Wayne) of Athens; step-daughter, Nancy Drye (Jim) of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Anne Jackson of Danielsville; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter; she was loved by many nieces and nephews.

Due to the recommendation of the CDC, and the executive order issued by Governor Brian Kemp banning all gatherings of 10 or more people, services for Mrs. Williamson are being planned accordingly to comply with this order.

Graveside service will be held Monday, March 30th at 2:00 PM from the graveside at Jackson Memorial Gardens with Rev. James Dumas officiating.
