🚆 Metro is planning for more rail connections in our region!

Join Metro Los Angeles at an upcoming public hearing to learn more about the Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 Project and key findings from the federal Environmental Assessment.

The project would extend the E Line further east from East Los Angeles through Commerce toward Whittier, helping improve transit access and connections throughout the corridor.

📍 A public hearing will be held right here at our Senior Center on June 10 from 6-8 PM along with additional in-person and virtual opportunities.

📅 Public Hearing Dates: June 6, 8, 10 & 13, 2026
📍 Locations: In-person and virtual via Zoom
All public hearings will feature the same information.

Head to a Vote Center to vote in person, or skip the line and drop off your ballot at an Official Ballot Drop Box. Polls and ballot drop boxes are open until 8:00 p.m. tonight.

We’re closing the streets around the Civic Center for a safe open-street experience where you can ride, roll, skate, scooter, and move your way around! Enjoy live music, family activities, pick-up pickleball games, fitness tents, a pop-up market, and more!

Creativity has no age limit. 🎨

The Senior Spring Art Gala was more than an exhibit... it was a celebration of lifelong learning and incredible talent that exists within our senior community. From first-time painters to newfound artists, each piece reflected a unique story. 🖼️💐

Our talented seniors worked alongside instructor Calixto Shibaja to learn new techniques, explore their creativity, and create artwork they were proud to share with the community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and support our incredible senior artists. We couldn't be more proud. 💛

La Gala de Arte de Primavera para Mayores fue más que una exposición... fue una celebración del aprendizaje permanente y del increíble talento que existe en nuestra comunidad de mayores. Desde pintores noveles hasta artistas recién descubiertos, cada obra reflejaba una historia única. 🖼️💐

Nuestros talentosos mayores trabajaron junto al instructor Calixto Shibaja para aprender nuevas técnicas, explorar su creatividad y crear obras de arte que estaban orgullosos de compartir con la comunidad.

Join us tomorrow evening for the Senior Spring Art Gala, where our talented seniors will showcase incredible works they’ve created. Many of these artists started with little to no experience, and the results are truly inspiring 🎨✨
