Water has been restored. Please be patient as water pressure restores to normal.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

The City of Commerce is currently working to repair a water main line break around the intersection of South Walnut Street and C Street.

To make the repair, the water tower must be shut down temporarily.

Impacted Area: Residents city-wide may experience low water pressure or a temporary disruption in water service.

Estimated Time: Repairs are expected to take approximately one hour.

We apologize for this unexpected service disruption and the inconvenience it causes. Our crews are working as quickly as possible to make the repair.

Route 66 brings amazing people to Commerce, Oklahoma!
This summer, we welcomed wonderful visitors from all over the world. We especially loved meeting this nice couple who drove all the way from Wisconsin!

They arrived in an incredible vehicle:
-A custom 1949 Chevrolet truck.
-An actual old Navy truck.
-Found in an old barn and fully restored by the couple.

JOB TITLE: Public Works Department Employee
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
SALARY: DOE, full medical, vision, and dental, retirement
REPORTS TO: Public Works Supervisor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Include bending, crawling, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, operating
equipment, and driving. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs.
Must pass physical.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Majority of duties will be performed outside. Oklahoma provides an
assortment of different weather opportunities throughout the year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. Valid ODEQ Water and Wastewater Operator licenses, or are willing to obtain within the first six (6) months of employment.
3. Valid driver’s license

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Water/Wastewater
a. Make water service connections, repair water leaks, read water meters and record data, shut off and turn on water meters, perform general maintenance on water system, install water mains, operate equipment proficiently, install and repair sewer mains, maintain sewer mains and manholes, maintain sewer pump stations, operate sewer plant, pump, stations and record data, remove and replace sewer pumps, perform general maintenance of sewer system, assist other department employees in various job duties.
2. Street
a. Repair and replace street signs, install, repair and replace culverts, lay asphalt and perform street maintenance, lay concrete and perform sidewalk/curb maintenance.
3. Equipment
a. Perform routine maintenance on all equipment and vehicles.
b. Operate all city vehicles assigned for the performance of duties.
4. Miscellaneous
a. Employee may be required to perform duties outside of normal business hours
and on weekends.
b. Perform other duties as assigned.

📢 City of Commerce: Water Service Disruption Notice:

Please be advised that water service will be temporarily disrupted this Wednesday, July 15th to finalize ongoing infrastructure upgrades.

🕒 Disruption Start Time: Wednesday at 8:00 AM Water tower will be shut down. Once the tower is shut down it will take approximately 1 hour for all residents to lose water pressure.
Estimated End Time: Wednesday at 1:00 PM
Note: Our crews hope to restore water service sooner if conditions allow.

🛠️ Work Performed:
Crews will remove old fire hydrants from the system along 6th Street. New, upgraded fire hydrants have already been successfully installed. These necessary upgrades will improve community infrastructure and safety.

📋 Helpful Tips for Residents:
Store enough water by 8:00 AM for drinking, cooking, and sanitation.
Post-Disruption: When water returns, lines may sputter or look slightly discolored. Run your cold water tap for 1–2 minutes until it flows clear.

11:05PM UPDATE:
Water Service has been restored. Please allow time for water pressure to build.

10:15PM UPDATE:
Water service repairs are nearing completion. Services are expected to be restored soon.
Please remember water pressure will take a little time to rebuild once restored.
We apologize for this unexpected service disruption.

Update: The water main break is still being repaired. The crew is working as quickly as they can to restore service. This is not a city wide outage.
We apologize to the affected area residents for the er inconvenience. We will update with more details as information becomes available.

We have been advised that there is a main break at the intersection of Thresher Lane and Cardinal Lane that is causing low water pressure and our city crew is working to get it fixed as soon as possible. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Extensive lightning damage is the cause for the current power outage. Repairs are being made and service will be restored soon. Although, no time frame has been given.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency due to the loss of power please call 911.
