Victoria is beginning her first year as a classroom teacher after spending five years as a paraprofessional and five years in early childhood education. An ETAMU graduate with family ties to CISD, she is excited to join our welcoming community and make a difference for her students.

The UIL Spirit Championships may be 205 days away, but today was Day 1 for Commerce ISD Cheer! 📣🐯

They learned crowd leading, fight song, and band chant while building the school spirit, crowd involvement, and team unity needed to go far.

The Commerce ISD 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 will meet Wednesday, June 24, at 3:45 p.m. at the Central Administration Building. The committee will conduct a final review of the proposed 2026-2031 District of Innovation Plan under HB 1842.

The meeting is open to the public, and community members are invited to attend.

🎶 Commerce High School Band Advances to the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series State Level! 🎶

The Commerce High School Wind Ensemble has earned an incredible honor by advancing all three of our entries to the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series (OPS) State Round!

🏆 Class 3A March
🥇 Mad Major — 1st Place, State Qualifier

🏆 Class 3A Concert
🥇 Arabian Dances — 1st Place, State Qualifier

🏆 Class 3A Concert
🥉 A Walk in the Morning Sun — 3rd Place, State Qualifier

The final state adjudication will take place on Thursday, July 16 at the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention in San Antonio.

At the state level, only one Outstanding March and two Outstanding Concert Selections from each classification will be selected as ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series State Winners.

We are incredibly proud of our students and directors for their dedication to excellence and the countless hours invested in preparing these performances. Having all three entries advance is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and musical achievement of the Commerce High School Band.

If you missed 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐬 last week, you missed a room full of energy, positivity, and big plans for the year ahead! 🐅✨

Our new principals do not officially start until July, but they are already hard at work preparing for a great school year.

Please help us welcome 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢 𝐇𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐭 to the Tiger family! Mrs. Hocutt will serve as the 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 at Commerce Elementary School.

She brings more than 20 years of experience in education, including time as a math teacher, Elementary Curriculum Director, and Instructional Coach. Mrs. Hocutt is passionate about supporting students, empowering teachers, and keeping student success at the center of every decision.

When she is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband of 32 years, their sons, and daughter-in-law.

We are so excited to have Mrs. Hocutt joining our CES team! Help us give her a big Tiger welcome! 🐯
