In 1897 Commerce Fire Department was founded, the first Fire Chief was W.B. The Department's equipment included only a simple hand pump and a small string of hoses used to pull water from the well. Now the Department consists of two Engines, one Quint, two brush trucks, and one ambulance manned by Hunt County EMS. Today a single shift consists of four full-time Firefighters and two part-time Firef

Looking for a career where every shift matters and you can make a difference in your community? Commerce Fire/The City of Commerce is hiring a Communications Officer/911 Dispatcher to join our public safety team.

Our dispatchers serve as the critical link between the public and our first responders, providing emergency communications and dispatch services.

We’re looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, multitask, work as part of a team, and understand the responsibility that comes with being the calm voice on the other end of the radio.

The table at Commerce City Hall still has plenty of room for you to drop off school supplies or you can bring your donations to the Commerce Public Safety Building (Fire Station and Police Department building).
You can drop off donations until tomorrow, July 31, when building doors close at 4:15 PM.

📥There is a table set up in Commerce City Hall where you can donate school supplies for Commerce ISD. You can walk in to donate during business hours, 8 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday.📥
📥The other drop-off location is at the Commerce Public Safety Building (Fire Station and Police Department building), open to the public 8 AM to 4 PM. 📥
Please take a good look at the attached list and see what you can give. Every donation, big or small, helps set our local students up for success.

A heat advisory has been issued for much of North and Central Texas today from noon to 8 PM. Heat indices will be as high as 108° in the advisory area. This advisory will likely continue through the end of the week as heat indices each day will be near or above 105° across much of the area.
Be sure to dress appropriately, stay hydrated, and have ways to cool off if needed should you plan to be outdoors this week. Please look at the following images and review ways to protect yourself from heat and sun.
