The Scioto Township Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic.

Our commitment to student safety goes far beyond the classroom. Several of our Teays Valley bus drivers participated in CPR training led by Scioto Township and Pickaway County EMA Director. We are grateful for this opportunity to strengthen the knowledge and skills that help our drivers respond with confidence in an emergency.
Thank you to Scioto Township and the Pickaway County EMA for investing in the safety of our students and staff, and thank you to our bus drivers for their dedication to continuous learning and keeping our Viking students safe every day.

Great turnout today for the splash event. Thanks to everyone for coming out! This year, Capt Burton brought in a bubble machine.

***Update***** For today's cool down event, please enter from Grove Run road in the West Scioto Green subdivision. The elementary/community club drive has work underway on the elementary school side lot.

This event is still being held at the middle school. The map does have the elementary wording over the cooldown area.

It’s hot, extremely hot. So hot that we need to do a cool down! On Friday, we want to do a splash zone for the kids! Scioto Township Fire Department will be spraying water from our fire truck and making the largest splash zone we’ve ever done. We will be spraying COLD water from 12:00 pm until 12:30 pm. Come out and get soaked down. The event will take place in the front parking lot of Teays Valley West Middle School. The pavement will be hot at first so please bring some flip flops. Hope to see you there! (If are engine happens to be on an emergency run, we will push the time back slightly until they return.)

Last week, the Scioto Township Fire Department was awarded a grant for $7,900 from Ohio BWC to assist with purchasing a scissor lift for the station. This lift will allow us to clean, do routine maintenance, and change lights in our 16 ft apparatus bay.

We received some unfortunate news this morning. Due to a malfunction with the aircraft, AirEvac will be unable to attend our touch a truck event this afternoon. We understand this is unfortunate news but safety of first responders is paramount to us.

We look forward to hosting them at future events!
