Concan Fire & EMS is ready and available as our area remains under a Flood Watch and Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

Please stay weather aware throughout the day and evening. Heavy rainfall can quickly make roads and low water crossings dangerous.

• Turn Around, Don’t Drown
• Never drive through flooded roadways
• Use caution near rivers, creeks, and low water crossings
• Slow down during heavy rain and storms
• Keep multiple ways to receive weather alerts

Our crews are standing by if needed and we will continue to monitor conditions closely. Stay safe and please use caution while traveling.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

As you spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, please take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday and remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

From all of us at Concan Fire & EMS and Uvalde County ESD #2, we wish everyone a safe Memorial Day. Please travel safely, stay weather aware, and remember to move over for emergency responders.

05/22/2026

As we head into Memorial Day Weekend, this marks the beginning of our busy season here at Concan Fire & EMS. We ask everyone to please stay safe, be patient on the roadways, and remember to MOVE OVER for all first responders and emergency vehicles.

We have also received some much-needed rain recently, with more expected in the coming days. Please use caution around low water crossings, rivers, and during any severe weather. We will continue to keep the community updated and post information regarding any significant weather events as needed.

Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend!

04/30/2026

We are aware of the severe weather moving into our area, with more expected throughout the night. We ask everyone to please stay out of the weather if at all possible and avoid unnecessary travel.

Our crews are prepared and ready to respond as needed to keep our community safe.

Side note: Tonight marks a special milestone for our department — for the first time, we were able to place our trucks inside our new station, keeping them protected and ready for service.

Stay safe and stay weather aware.

04/19/2026

We are grateful for the much-needed rain across our area and will continue to monitor conditions for any potential severe weather.

While we are aware that the burn ban has been lifted, we ask everyone to please use caution. If you plan to conduct a controlled burn, please contact the non-emergency number ahead of time to notify dispatch.

Recently, we have responded to numerous fires, the majority of which have been controlled burns. These responses place our crews at unnecessary risk, especially in unpredictable weather conditions, and take resources away from other potential emergencies.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping keep our community and our responders safe.

04/12/2026

We are aware of the storms expected to move through our area overnight and into tomorrow.

Our crews are prepared and will be on standby, ready to respond as needed. We encourage everyone to stay weather aware, have a plan in place, and avoid unnecessary travel during severe conditions.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.

Stay safe,
Concan Fire & EMS 🚑🚒

It is with heavy hearts that we share that we are mourning alongside Uvalde County following the loss of our long-time County Judge, Mitchell. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving this community made a lasting impact on all of us.

During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of working with him. We also stand in support of our partners throughout the county as we remember his service and legacy.

🚨 Mutual Aid Response – Wildfire Assistance 🚨

Concan Fire & EMS is currently assisting Reagan Wells Volunteer Fire Department with a fairly large wildfire in their area. Our crews and apparatus are on scene working alongside multiple departments to help contain the fire and protect property and natural resources.

While we have personnel assisting on the wildfire, we still have a crew stationed here in Concan ready to respond if needed to any calls within our service area.

We ask the public to please avoid the area so emergency crews can operate safely. We appreciate the teamwork between neighboring departments and the continued support from our community.

Please keep all firefighters and first responders in your thoughts as they work to bring this incident under control. 🔥🚒

Concan Fire & EMS is aware of the severe weather expected to move into our area this evening. Our team is actively monitoring the conditions and preparing in case a response is needed.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Neal’s Lodges and Neal’s Dining Room for allowing us to store our trucks under cover during this weather event. Community partnerships like this help us protect our equipment so we can continue to serve when it matters most.

Our crews will be on standby and ready to respond if needed. As always, we encourage everyone to stay weather aware and take precautions this evening.

🚒 Training Day at Concan Fire & EMS 🚑

If you see several of our members around the station today, don’t be alarmed — we are not responding to an emergency. Our team is spending the day practicing skills, training, and preparing for the upcoming Spring Break season.

With Spring Break right around the corner, we expect a busy few weeks in our community, and today’s training helps ensure our firefighters and EMS personnel are ready to respond when needed.

You may notice extra activity around the fire station as crews rotate through different training scenarios.

As always, thank you for your continued support of Concan Fire & EMS. Your volunteers are committed to staying prepared to serve our community and visitors safely.
