Due to dry conditions throughout the forests and increased fire danger, the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests will implement Stage 1 Fire Restrictions beginning Tuesday, May 19, at 6 a.m.

All partners in the White Mountain Fire Restrictions Coordinating Group have decided to go into Stage 1 Fire Restrictions for public safety given the increased wildfire potential. This group consists of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, Arizona Bureau of Land Management, Arizona State Forestry, Apache and Navajo Counties, and the Cities of Heber-Overgaard, Show Low, and Pinetop/Lakeside and the Apache Sitgreaves National Forests. This group is continually engaged to adapt our fire restrictions with fire danger as we progress into the spring and summer season.

Additional information regarding the fire restrictions closure order and an accompanying map can be found on the forests’ website https://www.fs.usda.gov/r03/apache-sitgreaves/alerts

We are very sorry for your loss. We are praying for the family, and the crew.

It is with profound sadness that Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District announces the passing of one of our firefighters who was tragically killed in a vehicle accident while riding his motorcycle on his way to work on October 3rd at 6:45 AM.

Our entire organization is grieving the loss of another one of our own. We ask for privacy as we support family, friends, and fellow firefighters during this very difficult time.

We sure miss you, Damon. The station has a hole that cannot be filled. As we slowly heal from this, know that you did what you always wanted to do, you made people come together to be better and show love for each other in the greatest ways. You have succeeded once again. We love you and will fight hard until we see you again.

Below is one of the options for helping out the families of both of these incredible firefighters. They dedicated their lives to saving others and the state and now nationwide support goes to show how much we love them. Concho fire sends our condolences and love to both Brenna's and Damon's Family.
