Thinking the storm drain looks like an inconspicuous place to dump that old paint?

❌ THINK AGAIN!

Paint, oil, and other chemicals that are illegally dumped into storm drains pollute our lakes and streams. Keep our water clean by properly disposing of these items through your Household Hazardous Waste collection, and if you see a spill near a stormdrain, you can report it to us by calling 704-920-5555.

Mosquitos driving you nuts? Make a bucket of doom! 🦟☠️

What is a bucket of doom, you ask? It's a kid, pet, and pollinator safe way to control the mosquito population in your yard. It works by creating an attractive environment for mosquitoes to lay their eggs, then it uses a targeted larvicide to keep them from developing, which means fewer mosquitoes so you can better enjoy time outside in the yard!

Putting out a bucket of doom is simple and can be even more effective, and MUCH safer for our friendly pollinators, like bees and butterflies. 🦋🐝

Keep in mind it doesn’t work immediately like broad-spectrum, toxic pesticides. Give it time, and you should see a big reduction in those pesky biting mosquitoes while also helping to support our pollinators! 🫶
