The Concord Fire Department responded to 24 calls in 24 hours yesterday. This included alarm activations, medical emergencies, and other calls for service. The summer weather is upon us, please be safe.

The Concord Fire Department welcomes four new firefighters. All four come to us academy trained and are experienced medics. They have completed the orientation process and are beginning shift work this coming week. Welcome Firefighters Adam Parker, Celso Nascimento, Courtney Britko, and Michael Jellison.

Today, Firefighter Hopkins and Firefighter Hamilton, as part of the Concord Fire Department S.A.F.E program, visited three kindergarten classes at Willard Elementary School to share important fire safety lessons. Students learned about firefighter gear and how it helps keep firefighters safe during emergencies, practiced crawling low under smoke, reviewed the importance of “Stop, Drop, and Roll,” and discussed when and how to call 911.

Thank you to the students and staff at Willard Elementary School for welcoming us into your classrooms. We had a great time learning together and look forward to our next visit!
