π August 31st β International Overdose Awareness Day π
Today, we remember the lives lost to overdose and the families, friends, and communities forever changed by those losses.
Behind every statistic was a person. A son. A daughter. A mother. A father. A sibling. A friend. Someone who was loved, someone who mattered, someone who had hopes, dreams, and a story that deserved to continue.
Their lives mattered. Their lives still matter. π
We remember the laughter, the memories, the moments shared, and the love they gave. We honor those we have lost by speaking their names, sharing their stories, and reminding others that addiction does not define a person's worth.
To every family carrying the weight of loss, please know that you are not alone. Your loved one is not forgotten.
Today, we remember them.
Today, we honor them.
Today, we say their lives mattered.
They are loved. They are missed. They are forever remembered. ποΈπ
Letβs continue to fight stigma, offer compassion, educate, support recovery, and remind those who are still struggling that there is hope and help.
For every life lost, may we choose compassion.
For every person still struggling, may we choose hope.
For every family grieving, may we choose love.
Never forgotten. Forever loved. Always remembered. π
