Childcare shouldn't cost this much. Democrats proposed solutions to help bring down costs for childcare in New Hampshire. Republicans voted to table those bills. As you pay more and more for childcare, remember who did nothing to lower your costs and help your family.

A new report from the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute shows average childcare costs for some families in the Granite State reached $30,000 last year.

Republicans just gutted funding to pay childcare workers. That only makes costs for childcare go up. If you needed any more proof that they have no interest in making childcare more affordable for Granite State families, here it is.

A bill that takes the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services off the hook for providing funding to a childcare workforce grant became law this week.

This bill drains state education funding from our public schools and strips local communities of control. Republicans knew Democrats would vote no, so they removed us from the negotiating table entirely. They know it's impractical and unpopular, but they don't care.

The legislation would allow students to attend any school in the state and take their state education aid with them.

REMINDER: Senate President Sharon Carson and Sen. Victoria Sullivan voted for the Republican budget cuts to the Office of the Child Advocate. Now they admit those cuts contributed to the problems at the Sununu Center. Democrats voted against that budget.

Representatives from the state agency that oversees the Sununu Youth Services Center faced sharp questioning Friday from lawmakers on the treatment of children there in recent months.

"When we thought about where we wanted to raise our kids," she said, "there was no place better than Nashua." That connection to Nashua is intentional. It is the connective tissue of Telerski's political life.

Thank you to everyone who joined the New London Dems at Tracy Library on Thursday for a wonderful evening of community. A special thanks to John and Jane Walsh for organizing and hosting this event!

It was an honor to celebrate the dedicated public servants who represent our region, including Rep. Karen Ebel, Rep. Greg Sargent, Rep. Tom Schamberg, and Executive Councilor Karen Liot Hill. Their continued commitment to serve our community is deeply appreciated.

I was also grateful for the opportunity to introduce myself alongside NH State Senate District 8 candidate Dave Trumble and Merrimack County Sheriff candidate Pete Shephard, connect with residents from across the area, and talk about the top issues affecting voters. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success!

Less than two weeks after the New Hampshire Senate passed a bill that would expand free school meals in the state, the House killed it.

Childhood hunger is rising in New Hampshire. Groceries, gas, housing, and healthcare costs are all up. Republicans control Concord and Washington, and kids are paying the price. This November, we can choose a better future for our children.

Even though Keene resident Alli Fish works part-time and receives SNAP benefits, she needs to make a trip every Thursday to the local children's food pantry Feeding Tiny Tummies.
