The 2-year pilot program for Concord's transition to Automated Curbside Trash & Recycling Collection begins June 29, 2026. ✨

About 1/3 of residents with curbside collection are part of the pilot program, while the rest of the city will transition in July 2028. Pilot participants have been notified. Check our route map if you aren't sure: https://bit.ly/trash-map-concord. πŸ“

Trash and recycling carts will be delivered the week of June 15. πŸ—‘β™»οΈ
βœ… Carts will be delivered in the relative location of service.
βœ… The carts provided are REQUIRED. No personal bins!
βœ… Use them as soon as you receive them.
βœ… No extra cost for one set of carts (one trash & one recycling).
βœ… ALL materials must fit inside, including cardboard & bags.
βœ… Proper placement is crucial. Check out the placement guide!
βœ… Serial numbers for each cart will be assigned to your property.
βœ… Carts must stay at the property, as owned by the City & Casella.
βœ… Other cart sizes available upon request, based on availability.
βœ… Keep or toss your old bins! Curbside disposal 6/22-6/26.

Carts will be new, but how we pay for this service isn't changing.

πŸ’œπŸ—‘ PAY-AS-YOU-THROW TRASH BAGS REQUIRED. ⚠️
Please continue to use PAYT trash bags to cover the cost of your solid waste collection and disposal. You're in control of how much you spend based on how many bags you use. Reduce your waste to minimize expenses! The PAYT Program has decreased waste by 40% in Concord, keeping overall costs down. Getting rid of the PAYT Program would increase trash volumes and expenses (YOUR taxes). Keeping PAYT will fund curbside trash collection services in a way that's fair per the user by allowing those who create less trash to pay less. πŸ‘ Carts will be monitored for compliance.

Let's work together to make this a smooth transition!

May 17-23, 2026, is National Public Works Week! πŸ‘

Public works advances our quality of life by providing infrastructure and services for water, wastewater, streets, public spaces, solid waste, and fleet maintenance. Public works provides essential services that lead to healthier, happier, and more vibrant communities. ✨

"Rooted in Service, Powered by Community" is the theme for 2026. Roots of service run deep in public works. Public works services help our communities evolve into places where people can lead lives of purpose and possibility. Some work - like paving streets and plowing roads - is highly visible, while other contributions - like maintaining water and sewer systems - are sometimes out of sight and mind. All of these efforts form the foundation of thriving communities. Every service, seen or unseen, powers the community it supports. πŸ’š

Temporary Site Modifications at Wastewater Treatment Facility πŸ’§

The Hall Street Wastewater Treatment Facility has temporarily relocated its biosolids hauling location outdoors while necessary floor replacements occur in the existing contained truck bay area.

There is potential for possible increased odor in the local area during this project while this treatment process is momentarily not enclosed. This setup will occur until the floor replacements are completed, anticipated through October.
