For Robin and Andy, that something was their neighborhood w**e shop in the Cleveland area. Saturdays meant tasting w**e, learning the stories behind each bottle and catching up with familiar faces. It was a place where w**e brought people together. When they moved to Concord, they quickly fell in love with its walkable downtown and historic district. But they missed that familiar gathering place. As downtown grew, they saw an opportunity to create the experience they had been looking for—and Cellar Door W**e Shop was born.
The name reflects their vision. In Australia, a “cellar door” is a w**ery’s tasting room, where visitors gather to explore and enjoy w**e. Robin and Andy brought that welcoming spirit to Concord with a simple motto: “No w**e snobbery here.” Inside, visitors will find w**es from small producers, with most of the selection coming from outside the United States. From familiar favorites to unexpected discoveries, the shelves offer bottles for everyday dinners, special celebrations, and a range of budgets.
The experience goes beyond choosing a bottle. Free, casual Wednesday tastings and regular educational events invite guests to ask questions, explore new flavors, and learn the stories behind what they’re sipping. Whether you’re a longtime w**e enthusiast or just beginning to discover what you enjoy, there’s a place for you at the Cellar Door W**e Shop . Building the business was a new adventure for Robin and Andy, who entered the venture without backgrounds in retail or the w**e industry. Through Concord’s Retail Lab, they gained business knowledge, support, and lasting relationships. They continue collaborating with fellow alumni and learning through the program’s mentorship opportunities. What began as a search for a familiar Saturday tradition has become a gathering place of their own—one where neighbors can connect, curiosity is welcome and a new favorite is waiting to be discovered.
