📢 Volunteer Opportunity: Inspire Adult Learners!
Do you love meeting new people and discussing current events? Are you comfortable using tablets and computers? Cabarrus County Library’s Literacy Services needs you to make a direct impact right here in our local community!
We are currently seeking a dedicated volunteer teacher to lead a weekly Adult ESL Conversation Class in downtown Concord.
🗓️ Class Schedule & Location
When: Tuesdays from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Where: Cabarrus County Public Library – Concord Branch

💻 Role Description
Spark Engagement: Use digital and print world newspapers to drive interesting conversations.
Build Confidence: Help adult learners improve their everyday speaking, listening, and English literacy skills.
Guide Technology: Assist students as they navigate digital resources and tablets during class.
📋 Volunteer Requirements
Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
Skills: Tech-savvy and comfortable utilizing tablets, computers, and digital news applications.
Commitment: A 6-month commitment is ideal to provide stability for our adult learners.
Onboarding: Willingness to complete a standard volunteer application, waiver, and a background check.

You do not need to build a curriculum from scratch! The library system provides all core teaching materials, lesson guidance, and training support to ensure you are fully prepared and confident in the classroom.
