The COA Outreach and Social Services team offers support, guidance, assessments, and referrals to help you navigate aging and changing needs. Services include help with public benefits, housing applications, home safety, mental health, caregiving, homecare, health consultations, and more. All support is free, confidential, and non-judgmental. Our team includes Outreach Coordinators Val Bertsch and Amanda Wootan, and Assistant Director Nicole Saia. Support Groups and Therapeutic Services:
Emotional Health Support Group: Fridays through May 29th from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM

This six-session support group, facilitated by the COA Assistant Director, Nicole Saia, provides a safe space to talk about past and current life stressors like sadness, loneliness, anxiety, stress, family, and relationship problems. Group size is limited to 12. This group began in April. Call the COA to inquire about space in this group and stay tuned for information about summer group offerings.

Individual Therapy: In collaboration with the Eliot Center, the Town of Concord offers a clinician to provide mental health services to Concord residents. For therapy referrals, please contact Nicole at the COA, or call the Eliot Center at 978-369-1113 and self-refer to the Concord Community Clinician. Insurance will not be a barrier to seeing the clinician. For other supports, resources, and guidance regarding your emotional health needs, call Nicole at 978-318-3020.

Monthly Caregivers’ Support Group: Tuesday, May 26th 10:30 AM to Noon - In Person Caregivers share experiences and gain support from others. Facilitated by Assistant Director, Nicole Saia, the group is open to all caregivers, regardless of diagnosis, for Concord residents aged 60+, or the caregiver of a Concord resident aged 60+. New! Monthly Chronic Pain Support Group: First Monday of each month: Monday, May 4th and Monday June 1st, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Chronic pain becomes more common as we get older, but you don’t have to face it alone. This group meets on the first Monday of each month and is led by Concord’s Public Health Nurse, Katie Stanislawzyk. Participants will find a welcoming space to learn practical strategies for living well with ongoing pain and to connect with others with similar experiences. Group size is limited to 12. Call the COA to sign up for the April and/or May sessions.
