America 250: General John Stark
"Live Free or Die." Born in Londonderry, New Hampshire, General John Stark was one of the Granite State's greatest Revolutionary War heroes. A veteran of the French and Indian War, Stark later led American forces to a decisive victory at the Battle of Bennington in 1777, helping turn the tide of the Revolution. His legacy lives on through New Hampshire's famous state motto: "Live Free or Die."

America 250: Josiah Bartlett

New Hampshire’s Josiah Bartlett was the first delegate to vote for independence on July 4, 1776, and the second signer of the Declaration of Independence. He later became the Granite State’s first called governor under its new constitution.

In honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a rare piece of American history was on display in the House chamber yesterday.

One of the original 200 William J. Stone facsimiles of the Declaration, printed on parchment in 1824, belongs to the people of New Hampshire. Members had the opportunity to view this remarkable document up close.

A powerful reminder of our nation’s founding and New Hampshire’s place in that history.

Rep. Henry Giasson rolled into session today on his 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special.

His bike has seen more of North America than most people, from Canada to Alaska, all the way to the Arctic Ocean, touching a glacier along the way, then south through Death Valley and into Mexico.
