About a week ago we had a party to send off our resident Blanding's turtles, Bubbles and Dumpling! They got to live in our Children's Room at the Main Library where we got to watch them grow big and strong.

Patrons made cards and visited with Bubbles and Dumpling one last time before watching their release as our friends at Stone Zoo and Franklin Park Zoo brought them to their new home at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge.

Goodbye Bubbles and Dumpling! We are thinking of you!

We had such an amazing time and a full house last Saturday when we unveiled the sculpture of Margaret Fuller, the 19th-century literary figure and women's rights advocate. If you missed the event, don't worry! This beautiful statue is now permanently installed and can be visited in our Garden Retreat at the Main Library.

The sculpture was created by acclaimed American artist Penelope Jencks and generously donated by planner and preservationist Ronald Lee Fleming.

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ ๐Ÿงข โšพ๏ธ Baseball Springs Eternal Book Display โšพ๏ธ ๐Ÿงข ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

We have a special book display this month created by Librarian Artie. His love for all things baseball are reflected in this annual display. He tries to cover everything from history of local teams, history of women's baseball and softball, to fan road trips to visit all the major ball parks!

Artie has many wonderful baseball memories from his childhood and adulthood when he volunteered as a youth baseball coach but at the Library his dedication as a staff member was recognized in 2011 when one of his favorite baseball books, "The Glory of Their Times," was donated in recognition of his 33 years of service that has now grown to include 48+ years of service at the Library!!!
