On Friday, September 11, we’ll be honoring and remembering the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001. Join us at Fire Station 8 at 8:30 a.m. for our Patriots Day Remembrance Ceremony.

Join us as we honor the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and remember the innocent lives lost and the heroic actions and sacrifices of our first responders.

📍 Fire Station 8 (1485 Old Charlotte Road)

This special ceremony takes place annually at Concord Fire Station 8, the location of the City's 9/11 memorial rock and maple trees, both representing the selfless sacrifice of life made by hundreds of firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency personnel, and everyday heroes, and the lasting symbol of the strength and forbearance of the American Spirit.

This week, members from our apparatus team picked up our two new apparatus, one of the vehicle is our new USAR/Collapse Truck and the other is our new HAZMAT Decon unit! Stay tuned for more info!

-Dwelling Fire-

On 8/26/26 at 15:55, Concord Fire was dispatched to a possible dwelling fire on Jefferson Ct NE. Battalion 1 arrived within 3 minutes to find a single story structure with a walkout basement with heavy smoke and fire showing from the first floor and the basement. Fire was under control at 16:12. The Red Cross is currently assisted the affected family and the fire is under investigation by the Concord Fire Marshals Office.

-Working Townhouse Fire-

On 8/23/2026 at 07:09, Concord Fire was dispatched to a apartment fire on Valley Brook Ln SE. Engine Co. 1 arrived within two minutes to find a two story townhome with heavy smoke showing from the middle unit and declared a working fire. Control time was given at 07:23. The fire is currently under investigation and the Red Cross is assisting the affected families.

The Concord Fire Department’s Hazmat Team has earned first place at the SAFRE Hazmat Challenge held in Raleigh. Competing against hazardous materials response teams from across the State the Concord Hazmat Team delivered an outstanding performance and achieved a perfect score.

This accomplishment highlights the team’s strong commitment to training, teamwork, and operational excellence while representing the Concord Fire Department.

Members are: Eng. Daniel Medford, Captain Michael Nichols, FF Nick Cardarapoli and Eng. Joshua Knisley

On 8/10/2026, Concord Engine Co. 1, Truck Co. 1, Engine Co. 4 and Battalion 1 assisted Coldwater Fire Department with this working fire. See post for more information.

Another successful National Night out is in the books! We visited neighborhoods throughout the city to get to know our residents, build stronger relationships, and create safer communities. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

CAMP INFERNO 2026

Camp Inferno 2026 began and ended with 21 campers, each of whom challenged themselves both physically and mentally throughout the week. Many conquered personal fears while learning the value of teamwork, communication, and supporting one another through uncomfortable situations.

We are incredibly proud of the determination, resilience, and growth these campers demonstrated.

A special thank you to the firefighters and staff who volunteered their time, knowledge, and mentorship to teach the skills of the fire service and make this experience possible.

We can’t wait to see where they go next!
