🇨🇴❤️ THANK YOU, FURR FAMILY! ❤️🇨🇴

Our Furr community truly showed up for Colombia! Because of your generosity, we were able to deliver donations to two different collection locations to help families affected by the earthquake.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated food, hygiene items, baby supplies, first-aid items, clothing, pet supplies, and more. Every single donation made a difference.

And we’re not quite done! If you have additional donations you’d still like to bring in, we can get them to WHES, which is doing one last delivery on Saturday.

This is Building Excellence in action—our students and families learning that being part of a strong community means caring for others, showing up, and helping when people need it most.

✨ A Fresh Look at Our Front Entrance! ✨
Our front entrance just got a facelift, and we couldn’t be more excited about the difference! Not only does it look more beautiful and welcoming, but it also provides an added layer of security by making it more difficult to see into our building from the outside.
A huge THANK YOU to our PTO for helping offset the cost and making it possible for us to invest in this improvement for our Falcons! We are so grateful for a PTO that continues to support our school and help us create a safe, welcoming, and beautiful place for our students and staff. ❤️💛

🎉 All Our Falcons Are Back! 🦅💛
Today is a BIG day at Carl A. Furr, it’s the first day for all of our kindergarten Falcons! That means our entire Furr family is finally back together under one roof, and we couldn’t be more excited! 💛

Our kindergarteners have already brought so much joy, energy, and curiosity to our hallways! We love watching them make new friends, learn new routines, discover their classrooms, and figure out this whole “school” thing one brave step at a time.

There’s just something special about kindergarten—big smiles, tiny backpacks, lots of questions, and SO much learning! 🥰

Our 5th graders are working HARD this Friday! 🙌📚 They’re diving into their first module of Arts and Letters, exploring and discussing culture. In math, they’re collecting and analyzing data in both English and Spanish. In science, they’re creating hypotheses, testing their thinking, and seeing if the evidence supports their ideas. 🔬📊 We absolutely LOVE seeing the learning, collaboration, and engagement happening in our classrooms during this first week of school! Our 5th graders are already setting the bar high for the rest of our Falcons! 🦅✨

🇨🇴 5 DAYS TO HELP COLOMBIA 🇨🇴
Next week, our Furr family has an opportunity to come together to support families in Colombia who have been affected by the recent earthquake.

Colombia holds a special place in the heart of our Furr community. We are proud to have staff, students, and families who are from Colombia, as well as loved ones who live there. When members of our community are hurting, we want to come together to show our support and care.

Participation is completely voluntary, and families may participate on one day, multiple days, or not at all. Every contribution, big or small, can make a difference.

🥫 Monday – Non-Perishable Food
Rice, pasta, beans, canned food, cereal, crackers, and other non-perishable foods
🧼 Tuesday – Personal Hygiene
Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, diapers, and wipes
👶 Wednesday – Babies & Comfort
Baby formula, non-perishable baby food, diapers, wipes, blankets, and clean sheets
🩹 Thursday – Protection & First Aid
Gloves, face masks, flashlights, batteries, and basic first-aid supplies (No prescription medications, please.)
👕🐾 Friday – Clothing & Pets
Clean clothing in good condition for children and adults, pet food, and basic pet supplies
📦 All donations will be collected on Friday and taken to the designated collection point to be prepared for shipment to Colombia.

At Furr, Building Excellence means more than what happens inside our classrooms. It means building a school community that cares for others, supports one another, and steps up when help is needed.

Day 2 is officially underway, and it’s off to a great start! Our Falcons are settling into their classrooms, learning routines and expectations, making new friends, and getting to know their teachers. They’re already diving into books and exploring new learning. We’re loving the energy in the building and seeing so many smiling faces! We loved seeing so many smiling faces as we kicked off the 2026–2027 school year! From excited students to happy teachers, it was wonderful to see our halls filled with energy, laughter, and learning.
