**PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT**

As many of you are aware, our recent ISO inspection results have been reported, with Allen reclassified as a ISO 2 for our entire fire district! One of the areas that we improved on this inspection, was response times.

To even further improve these response times again for our next inspection, Allen VFD has placed a brand new 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in service as an ultra fast response vehicle!

This unit will allow medical and fire personnel to rapidly respond to emergency calls for service at an impressive rate. Keep an eye out for this call jumping rocket ship!

**WORKING FIRE**

At 14:40 hours today, Allen was alerted to a possible structure fire in the 5300-Blk of Flowes Store Rd. Cabarrus communications advised a detached garage was on fire.

Allen E11 arrived first on scene with smoke and fire showing, upgrading the incident to a working fire. E11 established command, secured their own water supply, and stretched a line for fire attack.

A control time was called at 14:53, just 12 mins after after the call was received.

This marks the 2nd working fire in Allen’s first due, and 5th working fire overall this March.

Strong work by all companies involved!

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

Today, Allen Fire Chief Randy Dozier received communication from the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshall with the results of our recent ISO inspection.

We are proud to announce that Allen has been awarded an ISO 2 rating for our entire fire district!

For those who may not be familiar, OSFM issues an ISO rating to fire departments in the state of NC. This scale from Class 1 (superior protection) to 10 (no recognized protection) directly affects insurance premiums on the homes within our fire tax district.

For comparison, North Carolina rates 1,533 fire departments total in the state. As of March 2026, Allen is one of only 15 fire departments in the state to achieve such a prestigious rating. For national standards, of approximately 47,500 fire departments evaluated in the US, between 5-6% of those receive ISO 2 ratings.

This achievement exemplifies the dedication that our Members, Officers, and Chief Officers bring to our organization everyday to provide the best service to YOU, our community.

Former Allen Engine 1 captured in service with Lone Hickory VFD

This truck was ordered new from KME, then sold to Lone Hickory several years later.

If you live in our district and have an emergency tonight there will be a different truck and name that will show up. We want to thank Lone Hickory Volunteer Fire Department for standing by for us while our members take a well deserved night off to celebrate accomplishments, eat dinner together, and reflect on the 2025 year. Thank you all and we are thankful to serve such a great community.
