Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission Pioneer Trails RPC is one of nineteen Regional Planning Commissions across the State of Missouri.

PTRPC efforts include GIS Mapping, Economic Devlopment, Homeland Security, Transportation Plng for counties in west-central MO. The Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission (PTRPC) was officially established under the Regional Planning and Community Development Act of 1966 as Show-Me Regional Planning Commission and was re-established as PTRPC in 2002. As one of nineteen regional planning commi

ssions throughout the State of Missouri, PTRPC serves Johnson, Pettis, Lafayette and Saline counties with nearly 150,000 residents. With an office location in Concordia, Missouri, centrally located in the region between Kansas City and Colombia, PTRPC provides technical planning expertise to West-Central Missouri region. Since its inception, PTRPC has provided professional planning services and technical assistance to its members through community-based planning efforts, regional collaboration, cooperation and coordination between the public and private sectors, and pursued economic development opportunities. PTRPC provides planning assistance in a number of initiatives, such as:

PTRPC is governed by a board of directors that is comprised of representatives from member counties and communities, the private sector and various other stakeholder organizations.

NOW OPEN: Lafayette Co. Route Y bridge over I-70 near Emma

LAFAYETTE COUNTY – The Lafayette County Route Y bridge over Interstate 70 near Emma (Exit 62) is now open. The bridge was closed for replacement in April 2025 and was completed ahead of schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

This project was funded through MoDOT’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) but had been absorbed into the greater Statewide Improve I-70 Program which will coordinate closely with other I-70 projects the across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.

Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission is seeking a full-time Fiscal Officer to oversee accounting, purchasing, and fiscal management functions under the supervision of the Executive Director. The position is responsible for financial administration, payroll, personnel records, benefits management, purchasing, and preparation of financial statements and reports for the commission, district, and funding agencies. Duties also include developing budgets alongside the Executive Director, maintaining internal controls, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with program and grant requirements. This role requires strong organizational and financial management skills, with the ability to support both daily operations and long-term fiscal planning.

Lane closures scheduled on US-50 west of K**b Noster for bridge project prep-work, Sept. 29 - Nov. 1


JOHNSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation be closing the left lane on U.S. Highway 50 eastbound and westbound between Johnson County Route P and Missouri Highway 23 from Monday., Sept. 29 until Saturday, Nov. 1. Crews will be constructing crossovers in the median that will be utilized during the US-50 westbound bridge rehabilitation project over Clear Creek. That project is scheduled to begin in 2026. All work is weather permitting.

Keeping your Teen Driver Safe with First Impact-Waverly City Hall

Teens aged 15-19 have the highest crash risk of any age group on the road. Teens are three times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash and the risk is highest during the first 30-90 days of independent driving. First Impact is a FREE 60-90 minute program to introduce parents accompanied with their teens to the risks new teen drivers face and will provide parents with the tools to monitor, coach, and support their teen driver to reduce the risk of fatalities and injuries of teen drivers by 20-40%

Lane closures on US-50 in Johnson Co. for intersection improvements, Sept. 2 - Oct. 27, 2025

JOHNSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be closing the left lane on U.S. Highway 50 eastbound and westbound between the Johnson County Routes W and Z intersection and County Rd. 1501 from Tuesday, Sept. 2 through Monday, Oct. 27, 2025.

Crews will be constructing intersection improvements, including the addition of J-turns and removal of median crossovers. The project is scheduled to be completed in Dec. 2025.
