Good Evening folks, so note the name change it was too close to CERT which currently we are not certified as a CERT Team so I changed the name so as not to be a confusion.

What we are. We are a Team of local community members who react to community disasters to assist our community until official agencies can step in to take over. At that time, we either assist them upon THEIR request, otherwise we return to our homes and monitor the situations either from our own mobile units or homes.

Lately, we have been working on flood threats and assistance and now we will start meetings twice a month for business and training discussions. Want to join send me an email, or send a message.

Another thing we do is offer Disaster and Public Safety information packets offered via email. Want one, again, send an email to [email protected] with Disaster Preparedness in the title.

What this Team is not. We are not here to be a hindrance or a nuisance to official agencies. We are not a militia as some have tried to accuse us of, weapons play no role in this group, nor does tactical training. We are simply a Team that is here to keep our community safe. We take no monetary benefit, we are all volunteers who sue our own rigs and our own gear and supplies for the benefit of others.

Stay safe folks and have a wonderful Holiday Season.

Good Afternoon ECC, so we are anticipating the possibility of a wet, cold winter. Do you need a disaster preparedness packet to help you prepare for those snowy days, power outages and other winter preparedness information? The information I send out comes from multiple state, federal, and private agency sources and covers a wide array of topics not just disaster. The information comes in multiple emails due to some of the file sizes and can be requested by emailing me at [email protected] with Disaster Preparedness in the email topic. Stay safe folks.

Good Afternoon ECC, many folks are getting worried with the increased earthquakes we are having here Upriver, we have a potentially rough winter coming, and well, September is Preparedness Month so you want our disaster preparedness email pack, it will take about 20 emails to get all the files to you, but send me an email to [email protected] with the title of Disaster Preparedness and I can get that info to you.
Stay safe folks, Eric.

Good Evening folks, so yes ECC has been dormant but still always busy behind the scenes.

We are expecting 100 degree weather for the next four days, and still only dropping into the 90's after that into next week. Make sure you are staying hydrated as well as watching your animals and children.

Our fire threats are going up as well, so watch your fireworks and with the burn ban, enclosures should be within regulation of camp fires. I'm monitoring the scanner and maintaining a constant watch on the fire maps as well so we can send out a response message as needed should fires impact our community.

Stay safe folks, stay hydrated, and keep your families healthy. Eric

Hope you all are having a safe and memorable New Years Eve. Stay safe, and let's move forward positively into 2021

It is a crazy world we live in and after my BA I'm continuing current education so I can stay on top of developments. I took a FEMA IED security course last week, involving security measure to prevent explosive attacks, very good course. This week I will be taking a Dark Web course on how you, as an intelligence gatherer can access the Dark Web anonymously and gather intelligence without being detected by criminals. I plan on taking at least 2 courses a month as available if not more.
Another project we are undertaking for the local community is a storage containment for donations of clothing and housing items for those in need, those who lose everything to fire, and when the season changes, those in need at cold weather shelters, so stay tuned for that.
In time, I hope to have a tactical security team trained and in place, in conjunction with our current plans for the CERT Team once Covid stipulations allow the County to continue our training. Once we have our training complete I hope to have at least one of us certified as a trainer so we can grow the team so hope to have more on that later.
Stay safe, stay alert and will continue to push out information as it comes. Eric

Good Evening folks, so while we live in a unique situation with a pandemic, we now also live in a culture of violence. Peaceful protests in light of extreme racism promoted both by our government in some venues, and within corrupt police forces in other areas tends to open a breeding ground for extremist groups. These are areas you should be concerned about. Looking at extremist chatter, they are encouraging their membership to stage assaults on protesters, firing into crowds, breaking windows and looting, and taunting police officers. They are also creating fake accounts in the name of ANTIFA to make all those in authority look at this movement as terrorists. This is a dangerous time folks and one I would encourage you to watch yourselves in, don't get caught up in a crowd and find yourself in a volatile situation. A literal race war is their ultimate agenda, and overthrow of the government the agenda of some movements, either way, not a good situation for the stability of this country. Militia's, 3%'s, and even the many Patriot groups such as the Oath Keepers I would honestly look at the agenda as vision can be skewed with multiple members and their own personal goals. Be safe out there folks, we will get through this and there will be brighter days ahead as there always is.

05/13/2020

Good Afternoon folks, so while ECC in general is always working behind the scenes during this pandemic, most of our monitoring is through the personal community group for East County, which is a chore in itself. Many folks think this is all conspiracy, isn't as bad as the media makes it out to be etc etc. While I do think numbers are exaggerated to a degree, the facts are this is nothing compared to flu and I would compare this to a Spanish Flu 100 year Pandemic situation and if not taken serious as it should be will cause history to repeat itself by the mortality rate. During this Pandemic we also have fire and drought season approaching to also prepare for. My advice, we live in highly unpredictable times any way you look at it. Get your family as self sufficient as you can through gardening, chickens for eggs and meat etc. Think about the necessities and stock up in that direction. Everyone's families are of different dynamics and numbers so look at the amount of mouths you feed and plan accordingly. I'm generally available via messaging so you have questions and suggestions you can always reach me. Stay safe out there, and watch over your communities. Eric, ECC

01/24/2020

Good Morning folks, so our community is under Landslide and Flood watch for the next 24 hours so will be monitoring that situation.

I plan on creating an ECC Group as well to link in files so watch for that link to pop up on the page over the weekend.

East County CERT certification course starts Feb 6th and goes every Thursday night for 2 months in Burlington so make sure you get to the Skagit County CERT site to get enrolled so you can be a part of the East County CERT Team.

Stay safe out there folks and any issues you can reach out. Eric
