Big thanks to Turkey Hill Dairy for hosting "The Protectors of the Tea" last night for a refresher on the facility layout and key emergency response locations. Having strong partnerships with key stakeholders in our community allows us to be better prepared to respond should they have an incident at their facility.

It has been a busy evening for the Highville volunteers. Crews responded earlier in the evening for a missing person on the rail trail. The subject was located quickly by Manor Township Police Department. Then, shortly after returning to the station, the engine company was alerted into the Crossgates neighborhood for an odor of gas along with Engine Company 905. Shortly after returning from the gas leak, multiple units from Blue Rock Fire Rescue were alerted to Letort Road at Central Manor Road for a vehicle accident. Engine 903 arrived shortly and began patoent assessment and stabilization while Rescue Company 905 began working on freeing the occupants. The engine company also stretched a handline in case the vehicle caught fire. Also assisting on scene was Blue Rock Fire Rescue - West Station 907.

Last night, volunteers from station 903 and Keystone Wildfire Crew were special requested by incident command to respond to the active fire at A&M Composting in Penn Township. Brush 906 was requested due to its unique capabilities, including ride height and four wheel drive, and cab operated pump and roll capabilities. Another great example of savvy incident commanders and county EMA recognizing unique assets within the county and putting them to use!

Last night, Highville volunteers responded to the 3100 block of Safe Harbor Road for a spill control incident. Units found an oil drum that had spilled oil on the roadway and into a storm drain. HazMat 2 Environmental Fire Rescue Company duty officer responded and requested additional support from the team. The oil in the storm drain was contained and cleaned out and additional protective measures were put in place by Hazmat responders for any residual left. The origin of the oil drum and incident will be under investigation.
