The Town of Conetoe would like to share that the Down East Home Consortium is currently accepting applications for their program. The DEHC provides a forgivable loan of up to $40,000 for homeowners who need repairs for their homes. Applications will be accepted beginning on September 10th, 2026, and completed applications are due by 4:00 pm on September 24th, 2026.

The Town of Conetoe creates a monthly newsletter, where the public can see updates about upcoming events and important notices, among other useful information about the Conetoe community.

PSA of the day! The Conetoe Community Water Association has requested that we announce that the broken water line from this past Thursday evening effecting water customers from Chinquapin Road to Mildred, has been completely repaired. Everything is back to normal. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you all for your patience and understanding!

Today, Mayor Delane Bryant and Commissioner Briyana Storm Baker attended "A Digital Skills Program Retrospective: Building a Stronger Digital Economy Together".

The event was hosted by the Upper Coastal Plain Council of Governments to receive information about upcoming grant opportunities and participate in discussions regarding the rise of digital use in the workforce and economy!

We hope that we can bring digital literacy to the Conetoe community through providing more information to citizens and offering opportunities for certifications and courses.

PSA of the day! The Conetoe Community Water Association has crews out working tonight to repair a broken water line. Customers from Chinquapin Road to Mildred are without water at this time. Please be cautious if you are traveling in this area and help keep the repair crews safe. Will post an update when received.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ECPS SCHOOLS OPEN MONDAY!

As Edgecombe County Public Schools welcomes students back to school on Monday, August 24, we ask all drivers to use extra caution and allow additional travel time during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.

Please be particularly aware of increased traffic in and around campuses for Coker-Wimberly Elementary School, Phillips Middle School, and North Edgecombe High School.

Expect increased traffic, school buses, students, families, and staff as everyone adjusts to the start of the new school year.

Your patience and cooperation will help us ensure a safe and successful first day of school for our students, staff, and families.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TOWN OF CONETOE CITIZENS

Yard waste was scheduled to be picked up last Wednesday, August 12, 2026 and has not been picked up to date. This was not an oversight nor neglectful. Mr. Allen’s truck has been out of commission and has been repaired today. He plans to pick up tomorrow evening. (Wednesday, August 19, 2026). Sometimes life throws curveballs and one can only pick up the bat and swing. I apologize for this inconvenience and thank those of you who have yard waste out for your patience and understanding. This is a formal notice that the Town of Conetoe will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, beginning at 6:30 pm at the Conetoe Town Hall located on 204 West Church Street, Conetoe NC 27819. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public petitions and comments regarding the Conetoe Mobile Home Park. The Board may take action at this meeting. This hearing is conducted under the authority of the NC General Statutes § 160A-81.

This is a formal notice that the Town of Conetoe will be holding a special called meeting on Thursday, August 20, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm. The meeting will be held at the Conetoe Town Hall located at 204 West Church Street, Conetoe NC 27819. The purpose of the meeting is for the Town of Conetoe's CPA, Greg Redman, to present the required presentation of the 2024-2025 FY Audit to the Board. This meeting is called in accordance with NC General Statutes § 160A-71.
