Sechler Sugar Shack The Sechler Family has been making life sweet in the hills of Pennsylvania since 1850!

Nestled in the hills of the Turkeyfoot Valley lies the Sechler Sugar Shack. Presently, the operation is run by 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th generations of "sugar makers". Records show that Jonas Meyers, great-great grandfather of current owner, Everett Sechler, was producing maple as early as 1850. Jonas would later become a Lincoln Volunteer and was wounded at Gettysburg, and, during the Wilderness Camp

aign, he would return home to resume the making of maple syrup. Everett, and his wife Christine, have been producing maple syrup and products since 1983. They combine the old techniques with the most modern technology to produce the distinctive flavors of Somerset County Maple Syrup.

Dinner on the farm at Salt + Light Meadows was a huge hit!

We enjoyed an evening of flowers, fellowship, and delicious food, all topped with the best maple syrup in town!

Stempora Catering + Concessions knocked it out of the park with their incredible food. We were honored to add the sweetness to such a fun evening!

It’s that time of year again!!

Our annual taste and tour is always such a hit that we’ve extended it to TWO weekends!

Come join us at the sugar shack March 1st-2nd and again March 8th-9th from 10am-4pm!

We will be serving a taste of our “farm famous” maple cake and ice cream and giving tours of our 175 year, 8 generation family tradition!
