Congers-Valley Cottage Volunteer Ambulance Corps

The Congers-Valley Cottage Volunteer Ambulance Corps is the primary 911 medical provider for the hamlets of Congers, Valley Cottage and Rockland Lake.

The members of the Congers-Valley Cottage Volunteer Ambulance Corps provide life-saving, emergency care to the 18,000+ people living and working in Congers, Valley Cottage, and Rockland Lake. In addition, CVCVAC also responds mutual-aid to neighboring hamlets within the Town of Clarkstown and to neighboring towns; responding to more than 1,400 calls per year.

🇺🇸 Earlier this week, Congers Valley Cottage Ambulance Corps was proud to be part of in Congers.
Carry The Load is a national nonprofit honoring the sacrifices of our military, veterans, first responders, and their families. Funds raised go directly to supporting the families of fallen heroes.
Each year since 2014, Congers has continued the tradition with a parade followed by a ceremony and barbecue, bringing our community together in remembrance and support.
We are honored to stand with our community in carrying the load.

🚑 April Fools… with a quick clarification 🚑
Yesterday's “single-crew ambulances” was meant as an April Fools joke.
We hear your concerns and want to be clear that Congers EMS will continue to provide the same high level of care our community expects. Nothing about our operations or response has changed.
We appreciate how much this community cares about emergency services, and we’re grateful for your continued support.

April Fools! 🚑 Important Operational Update 🚑

In an effort to improve response times and increase system efficiency, Congers EMS will be implementing single-crew ambulance units.

One provider will respond with the ambulance directly to the scene to begin patient care. If it is an ALS transport, a paramedic will ride in the ambulance. If it is a BLS transport, a Clarkstown officer trained in ambulance emergency response will drive the ambulance to the hospital.

We appreciate your flexibility as we continue to adapt and innovate to better serve our community.

🚑 Fiona is on her way to becoming an Emergency Driver with CVCVAC, and today was a big step in that journey!
Life Member Mr. Brennan, who brings his expertise in defensive driving, came out to work with Fiona as she trains with our corps. Fiona ran through essential driving skills, and we couldn't be prouder of her dedication and progress. 💪🏻
A huge thank you to Mr. Brennan for giving his time and knowledge to the next generation of our team. This is what volunteerism is all about! 🙌🏻

📚 Learning happens every shift. 🚑

While riding, SUNY New Paltz college student Emmanuel, former joined the crew in completing an ambulance check. The team reviewed equipment, completed the rig check, and gave Emmanuel hands-on practice fitting Zach for an OPA.

Emmanuel is working toward getting cleared with our agency after earning his NYS EMT certification, and it’s been great watching his skills and confidence grow.

We’re proud to go the extra mile to teach, support, and prepare our members for whatever the shift brings.

🚑🚒🚓 Service runs deep in some families — and we’re lucky to witness that firsthand.

Dennis is retired ESU, Past Chief of Valley Cottage Fire Department 22 and now serves as a Fire Coordinator for the Town of Clarkstown. His son continues that legacy with VCFD.

During a recent visit to the station, his daughter Stephanie — one of our youth corps members — practiced taking his blood pressure.

We’re proud to have Stephanie with us while she works her way through EMT class.

Generations of service. The future is in good hands. 🚑

It was an honor for us to stand alongside the Congers Fire Department in paying our final respects to Alfred “Al” Magnatta.
Al’s life was defined by service — to his country as a WWII veteran, his community, and the fire service he dedicated nearly eight decades to. Being part of the funeral detail for a member whose legacy shaped generations of firefighters and emergency responders was a solemn privilege we do not take lightly.
We extend our deepest condolences to Al’s family, friends, and the members of the Congers Fire Department. Thank you for allowing us to assist in honoring a life of extraordinary commitment, leadership, and service.

Rest easy, Al. Your watch is complete. 🖤🚒🇺🇸
