Today, we honor Juneteenth—a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity for all.

At TOUCH, we recognize that health equity and food access are fundamental to thriving communities. As we serve individuals living with chronic illness and lead a coalition working to end hunger in our community, we remain committed to breaking down barriers that prevent our neighbors from accessing the care, nutrition, and support they deserve.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not only about liberation from the past—it is also about creating a future where everyone has the opportunity to live healthy, nourished, and dignified lives.

Together, we continue the work of building stronger, more equitable communities for all.

At TOUCH, Together Our Unity Can Heal is more than our name—it’s our mission. ❤️

Since the 1990s, we have stood beside our neighbors living with HIV, providing compassionate care, support, and hope. Today, that commitment continues as we serve individuals living with HIV and other chronic illnesses through case management, nutrition counseling, pharmacy services, and free nutritionist-approved groceries.

Chronic illness can be overwhelming, but no one should have to face it alone. Every day, we touch hearts and lives by connecting people to the care, resources, and community they need to thrive.

Because healing happens when we come together.

Representing TOUCH and Rockland Community Against Hunger at the 2026 NYS Food Summit!

It was a pleasure to connect with Natasha Pernicka, Executive Director of the Alliance for a Hunger Free New York, and TOUCH Board President Eric Jimenez as advocates and community leaders came together to discuss innovative solutions to hunger across New York State.

Together, we’re building stronger partnerships and advancing the work to ensure everyone has access to healthy, nutritious food. Because food is medicine.

Food insecurity is about so much more than hunger—it’s about health, dignity, and opportunity. This past Sunday, we were honored to attend a screening of , a powerful documentary by young filmmaker Mia Jean that highlights the people and organizations on the front lines of hunger relief in Rockland County.

The film featured our Food Recovery and steering committee partner, .foodpantry, bringing to life the stories behind the statistics and the work being done to ensure everyone has access to healthy food.

We were especially proud to see our Food Recovery Assistant Program Manager and driver, Larry, featured in the film and participating in the panel discussion afterward, as well as our other Food Recovery team heroes.

Thank you, Mia, for shining a light on this important issue and the dedicated individuals working every day to build a stronger, more food-secure community.

Happy Pride! 🌈

The TOUCH team was proud to be part of Pride Day with Patricia Pauyo, Julian Palmer, Carin Clary and her daughter, and Esther Jacques.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the beauty, joy, and diversity of our community. We loved connecting with so many people who stopped by our table to learn more about TOUCH’s services, share a smile, and even blow a few bubbles with us!

Together, we continue building a community where everyone is seen, supported, and celebrated.

Excess into excess. Surplus into sustenance.

Through our Get Fresh food distributions and Food Recovery Program, we transform surplus food into a powerful community resource. Fresh produce, dairy, frozen foods, and other nutritious items that might otherwise go to waste are rescued from retailers, farms, and food partners and delivered directly to local food pantries serving Rockland County families.

Every pound recovered means less waste, healthier communities, and more neighbors with access to nutritious food.

We believe food belongs on tables, not in landfills. Together, we’re turning waste into opportunity and fighting hunger one delivery at a time.

We are Rockland Community Against Hunger. Join us!

Big thanks to our incredible partners!

Thanks to our incredible partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County’s GleanMobile Program, our Food Recovery Program has access to an abundance of fresh, locally grown produce from regional farms.

This morning, Larry picked up a truckload of beautiful lettuce that was harvested just yesterday and is already on its way to local food pantries across Rockland County, including Saint Paul’s Food Pantry in Valley Cottage pictured here.

Fresh, nutritious food like this helps ensure that our neighbors have access to healthy options while reducing food waste.

At the Rockland Community Against Hunger, we believe that nutrition is our mission. Through partnerships, collaboration, and community action, we’re connecting farm-fresh food with families who need it most.
