Conneaut Lake Volunteer Fire, Department #7 was organized in 1933 and is located on Routes 322/6 in Conneaut Lake. Station 1 houses the fire truck bays and Station 3 the social club. Conneaut Lake VFD Dept. 7’s primary coverage area includes all of Sadsbury Township and the Borough of Conneaut Lake. The department has a first out fire engine (Engine 702) that carries 2,000 gals of water with a 2,0
00 GPM pump and a new tanker (Tanker 701) that replaced the 40 year old 703; essential for structure fires since approximately 80% of the department’s coverage area does not have fire hydrants. The department also has a heavy rescue unit (Rescue 708) that responds to all motor vehicle accidents and fires. This unit carries two complete Hurst Tools and other tools & equipment for freeing victims involved in automobile accidents. Two other vehicles (Brush Unit 704 & Utility Truck 714 are available for other calls. Finally, the department is responsible for covering all the waters of Conneaut Lake. This responsibility is aided by two watercraft docked at the south end of the lake across the highway from Station 1/3. First of these is a 28’ pontoon boat (Rescue Boat 718) used at all water emergencies on the lake during the open water season. The other vessel is a fire boat (Fire Boat 728) that was recently obtained from the Cincinnati Fire Dept. This boat has a 1,000 GPM internal pump on it to aid in water supply at structure fires in close proximity to the lake as well as boat fires and other water emergencies. During the winter months Rescue 708 has cold water rescue suits, an ice rescue sled, plus an assortment of ropes and tools to aid in cold water rescue. Station 3 is a members & guest club offering a full menu and legal beverages & overlooks Conneaut Lake which is Pennsylvania’s largest natural lake. Our enclosed patio has a beautiful lake view. Station 3 provides financial support for CLVFD Dept. 7 using proceeds from the social club operations. We thank everyone for their support in this mission.
