Our police auxiliary officers will be assisting the Connellsville Garden Club with their annual geranium order pickups this Saturday. Please take note of road closures on N. Arch Street between Peach St. and Apple St. This section of the road will be temporarily closed off and ONLY accessible to vehicles awaiting flower order pick-ups between the hours of 8:30am - 12:00pm. “Connellsville Garden Club has scheduled pick up for its annual geranium sale for Saturday, May 16.
To reduce the amount of cars arriving at the same time, the garden club is asking those who purchased flowers to arrive at the designated time slots listed:
- Last names A to K, 9 to 9:45 a.m.
- Last names L to Z, 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.
The pickup location is at East Side Fire Station, 110 N. Arch St., Connellsville.
Those who are picking up geraniums are asked to go to the Central Fellowship Church, 312 N. Arch St., Connellsville, across from the Amtrak Train Station and go into the church parking lot for line-up.
Volunteers with the Connellsville Auxiliary Police will be assisting to help direct vehicles to the front of the fire station where geraniums will be loaded into cars. No one is to exit their vehicles.
A paper displaying last names and first initials should be placed on the dashboard or held up in the car window.
All proceeds from the sales will go towards projects in the city. As a way to give back to the community, the garden club will be taking donations of nonperishable food items to donate to the Connellsville Area Community Ministries food pantry.
If donating food, volunteers will take it from the car when they are delivering geraniums to the vehicles. For questions, contact Phyllis Kovall at 724-628-6078.”
