Happy to share all of the paws-itive work that Fayette Friends of Animals does for Fayette County, PA with the Rotary Club of Connellsville! 🐾

🐾❤️ A big thank-you to Senator Pat Stefano () for inviting Fayette Friends of Animals to speak with the Club of Connellsville!

We were grateful for the opportunity to share more about the work happening at FFOA, the changes we have made over the past couple of years to strengthen our services, and our plans for the future of the shelter.

It was a wonderful chance to talk about where we have been, where we are headed, and how important community partnerships are as we continue working to better serve animals and families throughout Fayette County.

Thank you to Senator Stefano and the Rotary Club of Connellsville for welcoming us and taking the time to learn more about our work. We are excited about what is ahead! 🐶🐱

Congratulations to Jude Glover of Friedens on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout!

Jude’s leadership in Troop 152 is evident. His Eagle Scout project, rebuilding a wagon for the Somerset Historical Society, will help support tours at the Historical Center for years to come.

Celebrating the Cook Family Farm, a bicentennial farm in Fayette County, PA!

The Cook family has called their farm in Belle Vernon home for 250 years. The historic house began construction in 1772, was completed in 1776, and has remained in the Cook family ever since. Col. Edward Cook, a Revolutionary War soldier and confidant of George Washington, welcomed Washington to the home twice.

Congratulations to the Cook family, and thank you for preserving this incredible piece of Pennsylvania history and agricultural heritage. It was an honor to celebrate this milestone with you!

🏕 There’s something special about a place where young people can unplug, explore the outdoors and discover what they’re capable of. ☀ I recently had the opportunity to tour Heritage Reservation, a premier outdoor destination for scouts in Farmington.

With nearly 2,000 acres of mountain woodlands, Heritage provides a wide range of programs and activities, from Cub Scout programs to high-adventure activities for older Scouts. Heritage houses thousands of scouts, from across multiple states, every summer.

Places like Heritage Reservation remind us of the beauty of the GO Laurel Highlands and the value of getting outdoors. ⛺
