Today our outdoor education campers got to get up close with birds as they watched bird banding and observed birds. They also learned about nature journaling and participated in a bird simulation.

Special thanks to our community partners.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fayette County School Corporation Invites Families to Free Showing of Toy Story 5

The Fayette County School Corporation is excited to announce a special Free Movie Night for FCSC students, prospective students, and their families on Monday, June 29, at Showtime Cinemas in Connersville. Through a special partnership with Showtime Cinemas, FCSC has reserved the entire theater to provide families with the opportunity to enjoy Disney Pixar's newest film, Toy Story 5, at no cost.

The event will feature four showtimes: 5:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 7:45 p.m. Tickets are free and include admission to the movie, popcorn, and a 12-ounce drink. Attendance is limited, and tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until all seats are filled.

Each FCSC student or prospective student is eligible to receive up to three tickets. Accommodations for larger families may be arranged by contacting the corporation office.

While the evening is intended to be a fun celebration for families, Toy Story 5 also carries a message that resonates with Fayette County School Corporation's commitment to fostering meaningful learning experiences and healthy technology habits.

In the film, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the toy gang find themselves facing a new challenge as children's attention increasingly shifts from traditional play toward screens and digital devices. The story explores the balance between technology and imagination, reminding us that creativity, personal interaction, and real-world experiences remain important parts of childhood.

"Technology is a valuable tool in education, but it should never replace the experiences that help children grow socially, emotionally, and creatively. At the Fayette County School Corporation, we are intentional about creating opportunities for students to collaborate, problem-solve, engage in hands-on learning, and build relationships. The message of Toy Story 5 reinforces the importance of balance and reminds us that imagination and human connection still matter," said Superintendent Jeremy Duncan.

FCSC has continued to evaluate and refine the role of technology in its schools, ensuring that devices support learning while preserving opportunities for discussion, creativity, movement, and meaningful engagement. The themes presented in Toy Story 5 provide a family-friendly opportunity to continue that conversation beyond the classroom.

TICKET INFORMATION

Tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, June 16, at the Fayette County School Corporation Administration Building, located at 1401 Spartan Drive, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Individuals unable to pick up tickets during those hours may call (765) 825-2178 on or after June 16 to make alternative arrangements.

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be distributed until all seats are filled. Ticketed attendees should plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before their scheduled showtime.

GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT THE FAYETTE COUNTY SCHOOL CORPORATION!

06/11/2026

There are some big changes here at the Fayette County Farmers Market! Don’t worry though, we’re still here and can’t wait to see you this weekend, June 13th for our official first day! Although the market will be held on select Saturdays, we in turn are trying out a frequent request to extend the hours! 9am to 2pm!

As many of you may have heard, our previous market manager Stephanie made a wonderful new life change that unfortunately took her too far from the community to continue running the market every Saturday. We wish her the best of luck and hope she continues to do great things!

With that said, our board has continued working together in order to be proactive towards serving our community and dedicated vendors. Our board secretary, Vicki Bishop, has stepped up and volunteered her time in order to ensure the continued sustainability of the Fayette County Farmers Market. She is a proud 3 year member of the market and has a heart for this community. 🫶🏻❤️

We are so thankful to Vicki and would like to remind our community that the market is volunteer run and driven; there are no paid staff. Please be patient and give grace as we continue to learn, adapt and remain dedicated to serving our community. 🙌🏻
