The Street Department will be closed Monday May 25th in observance of Memorial day.

Yard Waste will be cancelled for that day. Trash will run as normal. Trash runs every holiday except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

***ROAD CLOSED***

The Street Department will be repairing a street cut in the curve of 30th and Waterloo out front of Noah's Battery.

This will happen around 9:00 to 9:30am. We hope to take no more than 30 minutes. We will have the road coned and barricaded off during this time. There is another street repaired that is needed further north on Waterloo on the west side of the road. We will address that soon as well.

The Street Department is closed Friday April 3rd. The compost will be closed as well. Compost will be open on Saturday, regular hours 8am to Noon.

Trash will run its regular route on Friday.

***Trash Update*** Revised @ 10:15am

The trash truck will resume normal collection tomorrow, Friday, January 30th for Fridays route. We are running a trash truck on Saturday to get the remainder of trash from Fridays route as we expect higher volume than normal. The Transfer Station hours are being extended to 3pm on Saturday.

***Trash for any other day aside from Friday will be collected next week on the normal route day*** This is why we are sending extra crews and trucks to handle the anticipated extra trash. We realize 4 out of the 5 routes will have an extra weeks worth of trash.

For Friday, Saturday and next week only, you may place bagged trash on top and next to your tote. We will be running both trash trucks and an extra rider in each truck to collect bags that are outside of the tote. We will also be sending a pickup truck to help get rid of the bags. Please do not set anything out that isn't in a trash bag. Also, please do not set trash bags out until the morning of if possible to keep animals from making a mess. We understand if this isn't possible, it's just a request.

Your tote must be accessible for the trash truck to grab. We do not dig out trash totes. If the tote is not ready, it will not be picked up until it is. If you call and let us know that you have cleared around the tote, we will try our best to come back so that you don't have to wait another week. Please be prepared for trash pickup to help us get back to normal as quickly as possible. We will use every available resource to tackle trash just as urgently as we did the snow. As always, have your tote ready by 7:30am.

***Trash Update***

At this time we are working diligently to haul snow away to make trash pick up possible. Unfortunately, there is still too much snow and we don't have enough resources to keep up with clearing roads, alleys and remove all the snow piled from plowing. Additionally the temperatures for the next several days remain unfavorable for melting and the cold temperatures effect the hydraulics of the trash arm.

Trash will not be picked up Thursday the 29th, however you may see the truck out. We are attempting a trial run so that we can better assess the situation and get a report from the driver on problem areas etc... We want to collect trash as quickly, safely and sensible as we can. Once trash collection can happen, please have your totes cleared for the pick up arm to grab. The arm isn't able to puncture through snow and lift the tote out of packed snow. If the tote isn't clear the driver won't be able to get your trash.
