We are incredibly grateful to Roots Blower, their amazing employees, and the Employee Engagement Committee for their generous donation of food, hygiene items, and essential supplies. ❤️ This thoughtful gift came at the perfect time and will make a meaningful difference at our guest station and shelter for both our residents and members of the community.

Because of this generosity, our residents are already coming together, planning meals, and sharing in the excitement of what this donation makes possible. 🍽️ It’s more than just supplies; it’s comfort, dignity, and a reminder that our community truly cares. 🤝

If you feel inspired to make a difference, we are always in need of donations for our clothing closet 👕, hygiene closet 🧴, and our warming and cooling guest station ❄️☀️. Every item given helps us continue supporting those who need it most.

Donations can be dropped off at The Shelter Inc., located at 431 West Western Avenue (the old Salvation Army building). We can also arrange pickup.

From all of us, thank you for your kindness and support. It truly means more than words can express. 💙

Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, we have cancelled our upcoming boot drive. The City inadvertently double-booked the date with another organization. While we’re disappointed, we understand these things can happen. We will announce as soon as we can reschedule. In the meantime we have another fundraiser coming up June 6th at starting at 9am. Come out and get some goodies!!!

We encourage our community to go out and support the Cheerleaders at their Boot Drive tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thank you for your continued support.

We’re so excited to share a little outdoor transformation here at The Shelter Inc.! 🌿🌼
Thanks to the incredible generosity and hard work of the Birgel family, we now have beautiful new bushes and trees bringing fresh life to our space. They didn’t just donate these plants; they rolled up their sleeves, planted everything, and even took the time to w**d and clean up the sidewalk.
The before-and-after photos truly show the difference their kindness has made. What was once a plain area is now welcoming, vibrant, and full of care, just like the spirit of our community.
We are so grateful for supporters like the Birgel family who help make The Shelter Inc. feel more like home every day. 💚

We’re excited to share something new happening at The Shelter Inc.!
As many of you know, we currently offer a hygiene closet and a warming station with hot meals, and those services will absolutely continue. However, we’ve seen a growing need in our community for access to free clothing, especially for individuals facing the elements each day.

Because of that need, we’re working to launch a new clothing service for those we serve, and we could really use your help to make it happen.
Right now, we are in need of:

• Hangers (bags or boxes)
• Clothing racks
• Shelving units

Donations can be dropped off at 431 W. Western Ave. between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM, or you can call/text 765-309-2477 to arrange a pickup.
We’re grateful for the continued support from this community and look forward to expanding our services to meet even more needs. 💙

We at the Shelter Inc. want to take just a few minutes today to recognize Greg Isaacs and the heart he’s brought to this place. Greg has poured himself into the shelter and into the people who live here — really caring for folks, helping with daily needs, and doing whatever it took to keep things running smoothly. His love for the residents and his dedication to service have never gone unnoticed, and it’s clear how deeply he’s cared about making life better for everyone here.

As you all know, The Shelter is moving in a new direction with some changes in how we structure our programs and manage operations. Because of those changes, Greg’s role as Resident Services Manager no longer fits the shelter’s current vision and needs. His duties have ended and he is in process of relocating his food pantry, Caring Hearts Helping Hands. Please take this into consideration when asking Greg for deliveries during his transition. Your patience and kindness is appreciated. This decision wasn’t easy, and it certainly isn’t a reflection of his effort or heart — both of which have been incredible.

Greg, we truly thank you for everything you’ve done, for the compassion you’ve shown, and for the steady presence you’ve been. Your time here made a real difference, and we wish you all the best moving forward.
