Today, we honor the American flag — a symbol of freedom, unity, and the history of our nation. On June 14, 1777, the Stars and Stripes became the official flag of the United States, and generations since have proudly stood beneath it.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Flag Day as we celebrate the values and freedoms that bring our communities together. ❤️🤍💙

📢 ATTENTION TAXPAYERS

When reviewing your property tax bill and comparison statement, you may notice a change in where certain benefits are listed.

✔️ The Over 65 Deduction and Blind/Disabled Deduction have been converted to credits.

🔍 Where to find them now:

These will appear under Table 1
Specifically on Line 4c (Over 65 Credit) and Line 4d (Disability Credit)

📌 Important:
In previous years, these appeared under Table 5 (Deductions). They will no longer be listed there moving forward.

🟡 In the graphic:

Yellow highlight = Over 65 Credit
Pink highlight = Disability Credit
We’ve also marked where they used to appear for easy comparison.

If you have questions, feel free to contact the Auditor’s Office- we’re happy to help!

🚨 ATTENTION VETERANS
Indiana is rolling out a new Property Tax Reform for 2026 that could provide significant savings for eligible veterans and surviving spouses.

Here’s what you need to know:

✔️ Some veterans may qualify for major property tax relief—even up to 100%
✔️ New credits replace current deductions
✔️ Registration WILL be required to receive the benefit

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
Please DO NOT come to the Auditor’s Office yet.
We will not have the required forms available until AFTER July 1, 2026.

📅 When to apply:
Between July 1, 2026 – December 30, 2026

📌 Before applying, you’ll need to complete State Form 51186 through your County Veteran Service Office (CVSO).

The new benefit will begin with your 2027 tax bill.

If you believe you may qualify, stay tuned—we will share updates as soon as forms become available.
