Connoquenessing Valley Regional Emergency Management Agency

Connoquenessing Valley Regional Emergency Management Agency Emergency Management Agency serving Connqouenessing Township, Borough & Evans City, Butler County, PA

The Connoquenessing Valley Regional Emergency Management Agency (CVREMA) was founded on October, 15th 2018 by the municipalities of Connoquenessing Borough, Evans City Borough and Connoquenessing Township of Butler County, Pennsylvania. The agency has been established to oversee the responsibilities of Pennsylvania’s Emergency Services code on behalf of these municipalities and others that join us

in this important effort for our region. To accomplish our mission we need resources, and the PRIMARY resource we need are HUMAN ones… people from the community that will invest their time to make their community safer. If you can spend even one evening or day a month to work with us or one of our partner organizations, we can serve together in preparation to lend a hand to our neighbors in their time of need. Please reach out by calling the Connoquenessing Borough office and leaving a message or through your local municipality or public safety organization.

Per the US National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA, "The combination of low humidity and breezy wind will create marginal fire weather conditions again today across the region. Brush fires become more likely in this environment, so use caution if working with flammable materials outside today."

Please refrain from burning brush, etc. under these conditions and check weather conditions before you do so at any time. We are thankful for our local volunteer fire service providers, Evans City Area VFD and Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company who work hard for our region every day. Do your part in fire prevention.

As we move further into severe weather season, it’s important to know the difference between watches and warnings.

A watch means pay attention! Conditions are favorable or are expected to become favorable for severe weather in the next few hours.

A warning mean take action! Severe weather is occurring right now and immediate action may be necessary to protect your life.

Our crews made strong progress yesterday and have restored power to more than 14,100 customers impacted by Friday’s windstorm. With help from over 200 additional line workers and support personnel, we’re working around the clock to restore service to the remaining 3,400 customers.

Most remaining customers will have power restored by tomorrow night. Restorations are ongoing each day and many customers will have power restored sooner.

Restoration times will continue to be updated on our outage map: http://spr.ly/PAOutageMap. You can also text STAT to 544487 for an update for your home.

Crews will be working in gusty conditions today, and we are monitoring another storm front overnight and into tomorrow. If additional outages occur, customers impacted by Friday's storm will be prioritized.

Thank you for hanging in there with us. We know being without power is frustrating, and we truly appreciate your patience and support as our crews work as quickly and safely as possible to get everyone restored. Stay safe!
