What is your WHY? Here is ours… Our mom was a selfless and giving person. She lifted up every room she entered and was always looking for ways she could serve. Growing up, she spent most of her time at our church, First Presbyterian in Newton, where she was the Children's and Youth Director and always involved. She loved her family fiercely. She never missed a dance recital, game to watch Anderson cheer, swim meet to watch Elizabeth swim or tennis match. While she was there, she was the loudest in the crowd, whether she was cheering on her daughters or the NC State Wolfpack at a football game. When a friend or family member was struggling, she was there with a loaf of sourdough bread (SO GOOD!) and a listening ear. She loved to cook, go on walks, broadway musicals (Les Mes was a favorite), singing and most importantly, spending her time with family and friends. In her last few days, she did not cry, but remained strong for her family around her. She lived her life as the perfect definition of unconditional love. She is our WHY. WHY we continue to fight to find a cure for this unforgiving disease. WHY we strive to support families who are on the same journey. WHY we continue to spread the word and advocate. Mom lived for her community and her family. Tell us your WHY? We would love to celebrate with you, remember with you, pray for you!
