Last night, I asked: when have you ever seen me post anything political? I can’t recall ever being political, except for asking for your vote. This is just a question that may have already been asked. If so, what was his answer?

Considering that the President decided to forgive student loans (and I’m not giving an opinion on that), I have a question for him—and many others will likely join me.
Can he also issue a forgiveness program for those who have lost their homes, cars, and even family members here in western North Carolina? These people don’t have flood insurance to help rebuild their homes or businesses, because who could have predicted such a devastating force? No one knew their homes, cars, pets or loved ones would be swept away by creeks that turned into rivers, rivers that turned into lakes, and lakes that swelled like an ocean—more ferocious than anyone alive has ever seen in these mountains. Roads buckled! Bridges snapped! Vehicles flattened! Homes crumbled! Such destruction has no words…….

What do you say, President Biden?

There are no words to describe what me, my family and neighbors faced the last few days in Avery County or will be facing. Somehow all of my family is safe or at least I haven’t heard different at this point. Those of you that live on the coast, I do not know how y’all can do this year after year. I’ve seen damage on tv across NC and other states, but I’ve never seen my home town hit like this and those older than me are saying the same thing. I watched my uncle fight against a creek, a creek not a river, that was just about to take his two working trucks and working camper out. I saw three creeks come together and make Dark Hollow road into a river. My home place had water and power when I left but most of those down from me did not. My family staying at my house is putting a sign out for anyone that needs water to come help themselves and the shower is open as well. I had to come back to Conover bc Donald needed his medicine and it was a very difficult decision to leave my family. Please continue to pray for the western counties bc many didn’t survive, some with only the clothes they had on.
Homes, roads, schools, businesses, churches and families are no more!

Who knew such a disease could change someone to be a person you don’t even recognize but still know the man inside is the one I fell in love with. 2016 to 2020 was some of the hardest years as we were trying to figure out what was happening to the man I fell in love with so many years before. The man that was stronger than any man I ever known but yet had a 💛 of gold. The man that wasn’t afraid to shed a tear, wash a dish or hang clothes on the line. The man that took care of his family and never rested but come 2016 that would all change. The first signs were so hard to see and it took months and months before I realized that there was an illness taking over my family. It took three years before we found out this illness was Parkinson’s then another two to get his medication balanced. These years had a toll on us both and the stress consumed me, then the lies started because after 16 years people finally saw a weak time, took advantage of it and caused me to loose my job for taking care of US. Parkinson takes no mercy - take a moment on this Awareness Day and pray for those that fight this battle daily, for their families that have to keep up the fight as well and since you’re praying, pray for those that are uncaring of me and my family as I do daily!
