We are excited to welcome families back into our building this school year, beginning September 14th-18th, to celebrate Grandparents' Week!
Families are invited to join for lunch on designated grade-level days to mitigate crowding in our Cafe.
Photos will be sold for $ 5 each.
Teachers will share individual lunch times on their class pages.
Please reach out to your child(ren)'s teacher if there are any questions.
We look forward to welcoming everyone that week. Please remember that visitors must show their IDs to enter our building!

Next Thursday, September 3rd, our 3rd-grade students will take the state-required Beginning of Grade (BOG) Reading Test. It is very important that your child(ren) arrive at school on time, get a good night’s sleep the night before, and eat a good breakfast that morning.
Please schedule any appointments or other activities after their test administration for the day. Students may not be dismissed from the test setting once testing has begun for the day.

We didn't just welcome our kiddos back this week. We also welcomed Mrs. King's classroom pet leopard geckos, Tarzan and Jane.
Her 4th-graders learned all about them before getting them out. There was so much excitement when they could hold them for the first time! The lizards even enjoyed the extra attention too! 🦎💚

We are so excited to have all our kiddos back for the 2026-27 school year!
Mrs. King's 4th graders have done quite a few icebreakers and team challenges this week to build relationships!

Our Summer F.O.M.O on what our Shuford Owls are up to while they're away is being subdued☀️

Check out rising 5th grader, Stella, who made lots of memories this summer with her sister, Sophie, former Shuford Owl and rising college student, as they explored Utah’s Mighty Five National Parks and road tripped through Florida. 😍

At the August 6th, North Carolina State Board of Education meeting, State Board members stated that they will carefully review the proposal and all accompanying materials using the criteria established in North Carolina law. At this time, they anticipate discussing the review process, timeline, and next steps at their September meeting.

From spreading fresh mulch and raking playground areas to pulling weeds, cleaning flower beds, and sprucing up our campus grounds, every helping hand made a difference. Your hard work, teamwork, and pride in our school truly showed today.
