We exist to ensure the safety and well-being of the community. We accomplish this by delivering the highest level of professional police services possible. The Conover Police department is comprised of 30 full-time officers, 1 Code Enforcement Officer, 2 civilian Records Clerks, 6 part-time employees, and 5 volunteer Police Chaplains. This group of professionals provides law enforcement and commun

ity services to the citizens of Conover twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. The men and women of the Conover Police Department are dedicated to service, excellence and working in partnership with the community. The department takes great pride in being a service oriented police department. The City of Conover hired its first full-time law enforcement officer in 1926. Since that time, the department has had 9 Police chiefs and has grown to the current staffing levels based upon growth and the ability to maintain current levels of service. To better serve the citizens of Conover, the police department has placed an emphasis on technology, education and professionalism. All patrol vehicles being equipped with laptop computers and video cameras illustrate this commitment. A career path program provides for advance training for officers and the department provides many opportunities for advance training. The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is the largest year-round public awareness and grass-roots fundraising campaign for Special Olympics. Known as Guardians of the Flame, law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope into the Opening Ceremony of local competitions, and into Special Olympics State, National, Regional and World Games. ☘️ Happy St. Patrick’s Day from the Conover Police Department! ☘️

Today we celebrate the traditions and spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, a day known for wearing green, enjoying good company, and maybe even searching for a little luck.

As you celebrate, we ask everyone to keep safety in mind. If your plans include alcohol, please make a responsible choice: designate a sober driver, use a rideshare, or call someone you trust to get you home safely. Our goal is for everyone in our community to enjoy the holiday and make it home without incident.

Our officers will be out working to keep the community safe. If you see them, don’t hesitate to wave and wish them a Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Stay safe and celebrate responsibly.
