MCRW invites District Attorney Michael Holley to be our speaker.
District Attorney Michael Holley is a Board-Certified criminal law specialist whose career spans 2 decades of service, leadership, and a commitment to justice.
A graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law, he earned his Juris Doctor summa cm laude in 1999, with a rank of fourth in his class. While at Tech, he was elected to the Order of the Coif, received the Fortney award for Ethics and the Judge Meade F.
Griffin Ward for Outstanding Achievement. He also earned the highest grade in multiple courses.
He later completed the Master of Laws degree in Military Law at the Judge Advocate Generalโs Legal Center and School. He would later return to JAG School as a Professor of Criminal Law. As an officer in the Army Judge Advocate Generalโs Corps, he served in Korea, Japan, and Thailand.
After briefly working in private practice, he soon felt the call of public service. In 2012, he joined the Montgomery County District Attorneyโs Office. In 2016, District Attorney Brett Ligon, selected Mike to serve as First Assistant District Attorney. He oversaw the daily operations of more than 120 prosecutors, investigators, and staff, advised the District Attorney on office matters and continued to try major felony cases.
In 2025, Governor Abott appointed Mike to serve as District Attorney for Montgomery County.
