He was working on a vehicle in his own yard.

He never should have lost his life.

Timothy Sisco has been sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to the murder of Billy Fisher.

Evidence showed Fisher was unarmed and performing routine activity at his home when Sisco approached and opened fire.

“This was a calculated act of violence committed against a man who was simply working in his own yard,” said Chief Prosecutor Wesley LeRouax.

“Those who choose violence in Montgomery County will be held accountable, and our office remains committed to seeking justice for victims and their loved ones.” said District Attorney Mike Holley.

While no sentence can restore what was taken from Billy Fisher’s family, this conviction ensures accountability for a senseless act of violence.

Thank you to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office for its thorough investigation.

This afternoon, emergency responders were called to investigate a reported suspicious item in front of our building.

We are grateful for the swift response and professionalism of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Conroe Police Department.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the item was not an explosive device, and the building has been cleared.

Thank you to our public safety partners for their quick response and commitment to keeping our community safe.

SCAMMERS ARE PREPARING TOO.

Hurricane season begins June 1.

While you’re preparing your home and family, remember that scammers often begin preparing as well.

After major storms, fraudulent contractors may offer quick repairs, demand large upfront payments, or pressure homeowners into making rushed decisions.

Know the signs before you hire anyone:

✔ Verify credentials
✔ Get a written contract
✔ Never pay the full amount upfront
✔ Be cautious of high-pressure sales tactics
✔ Keep copies of all receipts and agreements

Protect your family. Protect your home.

Verify before you hire.

Last weekend, local law enforcement agencies made 47 DWI arrests during the Memorial Day holiday period.

As summer begins, those numbers serve as an important reminder: impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of preventable tragedies on our roads.

Please help us prevent the next crash, injury, or loss of life.

Don’t drive impaired.

Last week was a busy one for Chief Prosecutor Chris Seufert.

Chris served as the keynote speaker at the Missouri Investigators Conference and also presented at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Technology Conference.

From prosecutor-investigator collaboration to coordinated ICAC investigations and the growing role of artificial intelligence in law enforcement, Chris continues to help lead important conversations shaping the future of criminal investigations and prosecution.

His work continues to place Montgomery County at the forefront of conversations surrounding technology, child protection, and modern prosecution strategies. We’re proud to see his expertise recognized well beyond our county lines.

Law enforcement agencies across Montgomery County partnered throughout the Memorial Day weekend for a coordinated DWI task force initiative aimed at increased enforcement efforts and removing impaired drivers from local roadways.
The effort resulted in 47 DWI charges between Friday evening and Monday night.

In support of those efforts, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office staffed seven No Refusal shifts between the Montgomery County Jail and Lake Conroe area throughout the holiday weekend. During those operations, 17 blood draws were performed as part of the No Refusal initiative.

“These numbers are a reminder that impaired driving continues to pose a serious danger to our community,” said Montgomery County District Attorney Mike Holley. “We are grateful to the law enforcement agencies and MCDAO staff who worked throughout the holiday weekend to keep our roads safe and hold offenders accountable.”

Chief Prosecutor Taylor Vanegas, who leads the Vehicular Crimes Division, emphasized the importance of proactive enforcement during high-traffic holiday weekends. “Every DWI arrest represents a potentially preventable tragedy,” Vanegas said. “The goal of these enforcement efforts is not simply arrests. It is saving lives before irreversible harm occurs.”
