The debut issue of The Trestleboard is live!

📖 Read the debut issue:
https://blog.travelingashlar.com/trestleboard/

A new weekly Masonic newsletter from Traveling Ashlar, written for Brothers who enjoy the history behind the Craft, the stories beyond their own jurisdiction, and the things worth carrying back to Lodge.

Each week we will travel a little farther, dig a little deeper, and share what is happening across Freemasonry. Historic discoveries. Unusual lodge stories. Brothers doing meaningful work. Masonic places worth knowing. News from around the world, with sources included for those who want to keep reading.

This week takes us from a funeral controversy in Italy to royal Masonic treasures in London, a Revolutionary-era relic inside a Queens lodge, a supposedly haunted Masonic Hall, 75 years in the Craft, and Brothers helping bring 50,000 liters of water storage to a hospital in Sierra Leone.

📐 A GREAT NIGHT AT MONTGOMERY LODGE NO. 25!

What a tremendous evening of Brotherhood, fellowship, and Masonry at Montgomery Lodge No. 25!

We were proud to welcome more than 30 Brothers to our Stated Meeting and the Official Visit of our District Deputy Grand Master, R∴W∴ Chris Adams.

A special thank you to R∴W∴ Adams for delivering an excellent message from M∴W∴ Jim Rumsey, Grand Master of Texas, and for his continued service and dedication to the Lodges and Brothers of our District.

We were also honored to have members of the District #28 Service Team with us, along with visiting Brothers representing Conroe Lodge, North Houston Morning Lodge, Oakwood Lodge, Morning Lodge, and even Aztec Lodge No. 3 from New Mexico!

To every visiting Brother who walked through our doors — thank you. You helped make it a special evening.

There is something pretty remarkable about looking around a Lodge room and seeing Brothers from different Lodges, different communities, and even different states sitting together in fellowship.

That's Masonry. 🤝📐

🌎 AND OUR REACH ISN'T STOPPING AT THE LODGE ROOM DOOR…

We also shared an update with the Lodge last night about the tremendous progress of our page.

What started as an effort to better communicate what is happening at Montgomery No. 25 has grown into something much larger.

Our posts are now reaching tens of thousands of people, connecting with Masons and Lodges throughout Texas, across the United States, and even internationally.

People are engaging with our Texas Masonic History series, learning more about Freemasonry, sharing our posts, participating in our Lodge challenges, and — most importantly — talking to one another.

And that's really what this page was intended to do.

Not simply collect views or followers.

Connect Brothers.
Share our history.
Show our community what Masonry really looks like.
And remind a Brother somewhere that the light is still on and there's a chair waiting for him.

Every like, comment, share, tag and invitation helps extend that reach.

To our Brothers, families, friends, other Lodges and everyone who has supported the page — thank you.

Last night's turnout and the continued growth of this page tell the same story:

Masonry is strongest when Brothers participate, support one another, and stay connected.

And we're just getting started.

Texas Masonic District 28th MWSA tomorrow night all.

📐 A SPECIAL EVENING AT MONTGOMERY LODGE NO. 25

Brothers, tomorrow evening we have the honor of welcoming R∴W∴ Chris Adams, District Deputy Grand Master, to Montgomery Lodge No. 25 for his Official Visit during our Stated Meeting.

We encourage our Brothers and visiting Brethren to come out for an evening of fellowship and to show their support for our DDGM, our District, and the work of Texas Masonry.

It will also be an opportunity for our Brothers to hear updates on the work, operation, and progress of Montgomery Lodge No. 25 — what we've accomplished, what we're working on, and where we're headed together.

The strength of a Masonic District is found in Brothers supporting Brothers and Lodges supporting one another. An Official Visit gives us a wonderful opportunity to do exactly that.

And Brothers, while you're making your plans for tomorrow night, think of a Brother we haven't seen in a while.

Give him a call. Invite him to come with you.

Maybe he doesn't drive at night anymore. Maybe transportation has become difficult. Maybe life simply got in the way and it's been longer than he ever intended.

Offer him a ride.

There may be a Brother sitting at home who misses the fellowship, the laughter around the dinner table, and that familiar feeling of being back among his Brothers.

Sometimes all it takes is another Brother reaching out.

That's what Brotherhood is about.

Come enjoy a good meal, visit with old friends, make some new ones, and help us extend a warm Montgomery No. 25 welcome to R∴W∴ Adams.

Let's have a great showing from Montgomery and District 28 as we support the Brother who spends so much of his year supporting our Lodges — and let's bring a Brother along with us.
