🚔 CRIME REDUCTION UNIT — AUGUST RESULTS 🚔
Our Crime Reduction Unit, made up of 4 officers, stayed busy throughout August, proactively working to locate wanted individuals and take offenders off the streets.
🔹 27 Trips to the Montgomery County Jail
🔹 28 Felony Warrants Cleared
🔹 11 Misdemeanor Warrants Cleared
🔹 6 Felony Instanter Cases
Flock was utilized in 12 arrests, helping the CRU quickly locate individuals wanted for criminal offenses.
These numbers represent more than statistics; they reflect the continued proactive work of our officers to identify offenders, clear outstanding warrants, and help keep Conroe safe.

Update from the US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas.

Here is the latest from NHC. Edouard has made landfall and continues to weaken as it moves inland over eastern TX. Edouard is expected to weaken to a tropical depression tonight, then dissipate by Wednesday night. The primary threat remains heavy rainfall & flash flooding, especially overnight. The Flood Watch remains in effect thru Wednesday evening.

The Conroe Police Department and the City of Conroe are closely monitoring Tropical Storm Edouard and any potential impacts to our area.

We encourage everyone to stay weather-aware and monitor local news outlets and trusted official social media pages for the latest weather updates and information.

The low pressure system we have been monitoring for the past few days is now identified as potential tropical cyclone five. Should PTC5 strengthen it will become Tropical Storm Edouard.

At this time we are not expecting any significant impacts from this system.

However we will see our rain chances increase starting late tonight into Wednesday.

A flood watch has been issued for Montgomery County until September 2 at 7:00 A.M.

A few tips to keep in mind:

With limited rainfall these past few weeks the roads will be very slick initially when rainfall commences. Please allow extra spacing and slow down!

The ground is not primed for absorbing the initial rain as it is very hard and excessive rainfall could produce localized flash flooding. Turn around don't drown!

Keep an umbrella handy through Wednesday!

In the early morning hours of August 22nd, around 2:40 a.m., Conroe Police Department dispatch received a call from a concerned citizen regarding a friend who needed assistance. The only location information available was a Life360 location near Cowboy Kia.

A Drone as First Responder (DFR) drone was immediately deployed to check the area. The drone arrived before responding officers and began searching for the individual.

With no description of the person or vehicle available, the DFR pilot carefully searched the area for anything that appeared out of place. Along the shoulder of Interstate 45, the pilot located a passenger vehicle stopped with its hazard lights on. The drone also observed movement in the car.

The DFR pilot immediately relayed the vehicle's location and observations to responding officers. Officers arrived a short time later and made contact with the individual, who was confirmed to be the friend the caller was concerned about. Officers were able to check on his welfare, provide assistance, and determine that he was okay.

This is another great example of the benefits of our Drone as First Responder program. DFR provides officers with an additional set of eyes in the air, allowing us to quickly search large areas, locate people and vehicles, and provide responding officers with valuable real-time information before they arrive.
In situations where every minute can matter, DFR technology helps our officers respond faster, safer, and with better information.

🚨Olivia has been located and is safe and well.🚨

We are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 14-year-old Olivia “Reese” Arvidson-Tolar.

Olivia was last seen on Sunday, August 23, between approximately 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. at a residence in the April Sound area.

Anyone who has seen Olivia or may have information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the Conroe Police Department at 936-522-3200 or call 911.

A Montgomery County jury has sentenced Everton A. Edwards, 63, to life in prison for the murder of 38-year-old Vonnie “Clay” Holcomb.

Edwards claimed the shooting was accidental, but the forensic evidence told a different story. During trial, MCDAO Crime Scene Reconstructionist and Bloodstain Pattern Expert Investigator Cele Rossi used the actual bench seat from Clay’s truck to demonstrate for jurors why Edwards’ account of the shooting was forensically impossible.

Chief Prosecutor Laura Hill: “There is no sentence that can restore what Clay’s family lost. His absence is something they will carry forever. But Clay was more than the evidence presented in a courtroom and more than the way his life ended. He was a brother, an uncle and a friend who was deeply loved. This verdict cannot bring him home, but it makes clear that his life mattered and that the person who took it will answer for it.”

District Attorney Mike Holley: “This was not an accident. The evidence showed an execution-style killing followed by a calculated effort to conceal it and walk away. Everton Edwards chose to take a life and leave a family searching for answers. Twenty-nine minutes was all this jury needed to decide that conduct deserved a life sentence.”

The case was prosecuted by Chief Prosecutors Laura Hill and Brittany Hansford.

HELP US IDENTIFY THIS SUSPECT
The Conroe Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect pictured in the photos and video.

On August 14 at approximately 9:30 p.m., a resident of a local apartment complex in the area of North Loop 336 West was entering her apartment when the suspect approached her from behind. After the resident entered her apartment, the suspect attempted to enter behind her before quickly fleeing the area on foot.
