Today we recognize Firefighter Christopher Carrington on the completion of his probationary year and all phase testing associated with this process. This year long training program is designed to be challenging in order to prepare and grow young firefighters into becoming more well-rounded team members of the Conroe Fire Department. We congratulate him on a job well done. Thank you to his officers, and fellow A-shifters for helping him successfully complete phase training and testing.

This week, CFD hazmat team crew members from station 7 performed a decontamination demonstration for our HCA Hospital ER staff as a component of a joint training and preparedness event. Our hazmat team members train extensively and represent us as subject matter experts in this field, along with their fire and EMS training. We are proud of their ongoing efforts to better themselves and to be prepared for events like these when they occur. Great job team! "Tradition fueled, future focused"

It has been another busy day for the Conroe Fire Department, as of this posting, we have responded to 45 calls for service. One of those incidents was a significant rescue call.

At approximately 11:49 a.m., Engines 2 and 3, Ladder 1, and Deputy 1 were dispatched to a high-angle rescue at the new Timbermill High School construction site. While units were en route, additional information was received advising that a worker had experienced a medical emergency while positioned on scaffolding approximately 60 feet above ground level.

Upon arrival, crews assessed the scene and developed a safe and effective plan to access, treat, and extricate the patient. Firefighters executed the rescue operation efficiently and successfully removed the individual from the elevated position.

Patient care was then transferred to Montgomery County Hospital District Paramedics and patient was transported for further medical evaluation.

We proudly respond to a wide range of calls each day and today was no exception. A resident within the Fire Station 6 district reached out for assistance with a situation we don’t encounter every day. The crew of Engine 6 answered the call and safely removed a rat snake that had made its way into the resident’s garage.

Thanks to the team’s professionalism and care, the situation was resolved without injury to anyone involved, including the snake. The reptile was safely relocated to a nearby wooded area where it belongs.

Outstanding work once again by the Engine 6 crew!

It has been an extremely busy day with some 56 calls for service by your Conroe Fire Department since 08:00 hours today. One of those responses took place at approximately 13:15 hours, Engine 3 responded to a motor vehicle collision and upon their arrival, the crew found a side impact collision with entrapment. This incident required the use of the extrication tools, and it made quick work and were able to extricate the patient and ready them for transport with Montgomery County Hospital District EMS crew. We love what we get to do for our citizens!

On Monday January 26, 2026, at approximately 11:30 am, a citizen stopped by our Conroe Station 5 asking for help to get her 35-year-old horse up off the ground that had been unable to get up since 5:30am. Engine 5 responded to the location and called for Ladder 1 to for additional personnel to assist. Under the direction of an on-scene veterinarian and nurse, the horse was able to be stabilized and with the use of manpower and an excavator, they were able to get the horse to its feet without any problems. Great work team, continuing to serve our citizens and exceeding their expectations.

Over the last three weeks, all shifts and personnel have participated in live burn training evolutions. This training has been instrumental in sharpening and advancing the firefighting skills of both our seasoned members and our probationary firefighters. Live fire training provides a realistic, controlled environment where firefighters can reinforce fundamentals, build confidence, and strengthen teamwork under demanding conditions.

Firefighting is far more than simply “putting wet stuff on the red stuff.” It requires the coordinated ex*****on of numerous critical fireground functions, often simultaneously and under high stress. These include apparatus placement and scene positioning, hose line deployment and advancement, primary search and rescue operations, ventilation tactics, ladder placement and usage, water supply management, and effective incident command. Each evolution allows crews to practice these skills, improve communication, and refine decision-making, ensuring we continue to operate safely, efficiently, and effectively when faced with real-world emergencies.

Our team continues to strive to exceed your expectations. We are “Tradition-Fueled, Future-Focused”
