🌧️ RAIN IS ON THE WAY! 🌧️
Rain is expected to move into our area this afternoon, so now is the time to BE PREPARED.

Remember: TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN! 🌊 Floodwaters can hide washed-out roadways, debris, and dangerous drop-offs.

If water is covering the road, do not drive through it. Turn around and find another route.

Stay weather-aware, slow down, and stay safe! 🚒

Over the last month, our firefighters, along with crews from the Porter Fire Department and Needham Fire & Rescue/ Montgomery County ESD #4, sharpened critical skills during Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training/drills.

RIT operations are designed to provide a dedicated, highly trained team ready to rapidly locate, assist, and remove a firefighter in distress. Crews are putting their training to the test through hands-on scenarios that challenge communication, teamwork, situational awareness, and technical rescue skills.

🔥 Train hard. Train together. Be ready when it matters most.

Because when one of our own calls for help, seconds matter.

Rio Escondido Fire Operations

South County firefighters, assigned as a single resource to the San Angelo Task Force, are currently working the Rio Escondido Fire near Evant, Texas.

Last night, as fire activity intensified, the crew was assigned to structure protection. To supplement the 300 gallons of water carried in their booster tank, firefighters drafted water from an above-ground swimming pool, allowing them to keep their tank filled and maintain a reliable water supply while protecting structures.

Today, the crew is back on the fire line continuing operations and supporting ongoing suppression efforts.

We’re proud of our firefighters and their resourcefulness, dedication, and commitment to protecting lives and property. 🚒🔥
