(CEF) is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization formed in 2001. CEF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, and administered by a part-time Executive Director employee along with substantial volunteer efforts. MISSION: "Planting Seeds of Knowledge to Grow the Teaching Field" by granting scholarships to Conroe ISD graduating seniors who wish to pursue a degree in education; and to Conroe ISD e
ducators who wish to further their educational degrees. FUNDING: As a charitable organization, CEF depends solely on contributions for funding. CEF is not funded by Conroe ISD tax dollars. CEF's annual Scholarship Breakfast is held each Spring as the major fund raising source. In addition, general contributions are accepted at all times of the year. Donations for specific scholarships as memorials or honorariums, or named scholarships to recognize a family or group, are also available. AWARDS TO DATE: Over $300,000 in Scholarships have been pledged to Conroe ISD students, and over 100 Continuing Education Scholarships have been awarded to Conroe ISD educators. TYPES OF AWARDS:
CEF grants Student Scholarships to Conroe ISD graduating seniors who seek careers in teaching kindergarten through high school. Each scholarship provides funds toward college tuition, fees and books. CEF also grants Continuing Education Scholarships to Conroe ISD educators and administrators who seek to further their educational degrees. Each scholarship provides funds toward tuition, fees, books and other qualified expenses, directly enhancing the value of Conroe ISD assets. At the beginning of each school year, CEF has presented $100 gift cards to all new teachers who are graduates of Conroe ISD. This "welcome back" memento tells these homegrown teachers how much their return to their alma mater is appreciated. Beginning in 2011, the CEF Board initiated "Seedling Grants", a monetary award to every school campus in Conroe ISD for use toward classroom enhancement or teacher recognition.
