Structure Fire – Doris Park Dr.

This morning, just after 7:00 AM, Constantia Fire Department was alerted to a structure fire on Doris Park Drive. Chiefs arrived to find an active fire on an exterior wall. Thanks to quick action by the homeowner and responding crews, the fire was contained to the area of origin.

Command held with Constantia units on scene, while Cleveland Engine 422 stood by at Constantia Station. West Monroe Fire Department was also activated as part of the first alarm assignment. Constantia responded with Chiefs 802, 803, 804, and Engines 811 and 812.

Oswego County 911 deployed a drone housed at Constantia Fire Station to monitor the incident from above. Using its thermal imaging capabilities, the drone operator identified heat signatures within the structure and relayed that information to command.

Another great job by your local volunteers — quick teamwork kept damage and property loss to a minimum.

Structure Fire – Simmons Drive

Today at approximately 2:30PM, Constantia Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire on Simmons Drive within our first-due area. Chiefs 802 and 803 arrived on scene together and immediately declared a working structure fire, requesting a second alarm.

Constantia responded with Engines 811 and 812. Mutual aid was provided by our neighboring departments — West Monroe, Cleveland, Central Square, Caughdenoy, West Amboy, Parish, and North Bay. Additional coverage for our area was handled by Brewerton, Mexico, and Sylvan Beach Fire Departments.

This was a very stubborn fire that required extensive effort to bring under control. Crews worked for about two hours before the fire was contained, and all units were back in service around 6:00 PM.

We’d like to thank all mutual aid departments and responders for their assistance today. Your continued support and teamwork are greatly appreciated.

Last year we were awarded the NYS Volunteer Fire Infrastructure and Response Equipment Grant. With this grant we were able to purchase 23 MSA G1 SCBAs, spare cylinders, masks, batteries, and chargers. We requested the funds to replace our current SCBA equipment that will reach its end of service life in 2026. We are grateful to our members, the district board of fire commissioners, Dan Izzo from Jerome Fire, and G & G Grant writing services for putting in countless hours of work in order to make this project a reality. Now we will spend the next few weeks familiarizing our members with the new MSA platform and training. This grant saved the taxpayers of the Town of Constantia $275,000.00.

As your local fire department, we consider the safety of our community and the people in it to be paramount and an essential part of our mission. With that in mind, we tried to inform our community of an initiative to gather data as part of the ongoing sewer project here in the Town of Constantia.

We just tried to inform the community that people would be coming door-to-door as a part of a legitimate campaign. Nothing more, nothing less.

We don't know why you didn't receive the survey in the mail. We don't know if you just did this survey a year ago, two years ago, or in another life. The intent of the post was to simply inform the public that people would be coming door-to-door.

It was a notice done in good faith and we will continue to make such efforts, regardless of the negative comments.

Good morning Town of Constantia. We just wanted to let everyone know that there will be some folks from G&G Municipal Consulting going door-to-door this weekend. Although this is not affiliated with the Fire Department directly, we have a lot of followers and felt it would be good to inform the public of their initiative. Here is their statement and purpose:

"Staff from G&G Municipal Consulting will be conducting door-to-door canvassing to obtain accurate census data in the proposed sewer service area in the Town of Constantia. You should have previously received a letter in the mail about this from the Town. The purpose of the survey/census is to help the town obtain grant funding for the project.

G&G has a contract with the town to conduct the study and has notified the Sheriff's office that they will be canvassing. They will be driving a white Dodge Durango with a NY license plate of GE 171. They will be out from late morning until dark today and tomorrow."

We hope this information will help prevent various Ring Camera photos from being posted to the various community pages with concern about trespassers.

Constantia responded with a chief (801) Engine 811 , and Heavy Rescue 861.
